As for your last sentence, bape isn't work attire or anything obviously but you can still wear it on your own time; I don't think it really matters what you do as long as the money to get it is there, not a real big deal.

There are lots of sites where you can get a quick legit check. There are still those diamonds in the rough, though the effort needed to find them and the uncertainty of actually getting any might turn you off. You can probably find some off brand pieces that look great though, which I think is a much better thing to look for atm (rspecially if buying at retail/resell prices is not justifiable) because aesthetic > hype.
