why do you use the targa method when the avi method doesn't take as much space and gives quality close to if not better than the targa method. that is, if you do use the targa method which i assume since that seems like the only way you could run out of hd space. unless you use fraps.


and how about this. i give you the demo of the scout running to the intel and you smooth it. i think it's harder to do than just following some ragdoll falling through the air in a straight line.

Because with the targa method you get every. single. damned. frame. Every single one. Sure it takes up a lot of space but the end result is way better in some situations if you're using Fraps.

Start fraps and go into gmod and so shit and watch the FPS counter. It jumps around sometimes.

With getting every single frame and throwing them together in a video that goes at a solid 30fps is way better in the long run. With fraps you need to worry about the process of FRAPS recording plus your computer running the actual game which can be hard hitting itself in some scenarios.

So whats better, live recording forcing your computer to run the process of recording the screen and the game itself or just leave Source to get every frame no if ands or butts about it? I'll tell you. Source wins.

It's just better. Yes it takes up more space for a little while but when you get them into the avi you can delete the TGAs.
