View Profile You have a car. Delivery drivers are always in demand. You'll be able to pay the rent.
Edit: Actually, I shouldn't be so committal. You're in a completely different country and culture. I have no idea what a delivery driver gets where you are. But here you'd never go hungry again.
Move to Britain!
A delivery driver here makes minimum wage + tips. That would definatlly not pay my $700/mo rent + electricity. Not to mention my other expenses (gas, food, prostitutes, internet, insurance, etc).

I make minimum wage + tips and it happily covers my expenses. Your minimum wage is too low. Or your money doesn't buy much.

Both. I think minimum wage right now is around $7/hour, give or take a quarter. So sure, work 100 hours a month and you'll have enough for rent. But the places that pay minimum wage typically only give its workers like 15-20 hours/week, thats 60-80 hours/mo. Not even enough for rent itself much less everything else.
Luckily i make $12/hr with about 45 hours/week, and according to my boss everybody in my position is being kept, with a pay increase. Which is awesome cuz i just got a raise like 2 months ago, now i'll be getting another.

View Profile Who decided 7 dollars an hour was an acceptable thing to pay anyone doing a real job, anyway

View Profile $9.87/hour over here (at current exchange rates), plus tips, plus generous petrol money, for sitting on my arse all day listening to music. I love my job.
Once got a £28 tip. That's over $45. I can see why people end up doing pizza delivery for years.

View Profile Minimum wage is $10.25 here. Delivery drivers don't get paid for gas or car repairs, either. :c

I remember when it used to be like $6.75. Its usually only like high school kids that work those kinds of jobs though. (fast food, delivery drivers, etc.) But with jobs being hard to get nowadays theres alot more older people working them too.

that's pretty much why most people here rent out their other available rooms to random creepy fucks on craigslist. most people i know live with like 3 other people in a 3 room 500 square foot apartment
of course, romney will probably make sure people like that live in cardboard boxes if he gets elected so feel free to gloat more

Admittedly I don't get car repairs, but that's come to £80 so far and I must be up more than double that on petrol.

Thats what two of my buddies are doing. One just bought a fucking house because he's a rich-ass fucking dirtbag, and the other is renting out his basement. One of my other friends and his wife and 2 kids are living in her parents basement.
Ill be happy by myself in my 700 square foot efficiency apartment with a fooseball table, arcade machine, and all my electronics and paintball shit crammed into it.

View Profile I've actually highly considered doing that when new housing becomes a necessary thing for me; it would be nice to have someone else around frequently anyway as well.
