Why the sudden strictness on double posts in the Chat Thread? There's like a berjillion of them that happened in the last month that aren't infracted. Same thing with one word posts.
I'm just saying what it looks like, but it really seems like you're giving infractions to people a lot more often if you don't like them, Jeff. I try really hard to not do that.
I give out infractions for rules broken regardless of where I happen to see them. That is what you should be doing as a mod. I can't be everywhere at once, and the usual quick pace of this thread means I'm most likely going to miss a bunch, but it would still infract them when I see them. This thread isn't exempt from the rules, and editing your fucking post is not that hard, and is much cleaner than having someone post multiple times like they couldn't process a full thought before clicking the post button.
It also probably seems like I infract people I don't like because the people I don't like are usually retarded or degenerates. Acting out at me puts you on my radar, and that means I take time to look at your history on the site, which usually leads to me finding problems if they exist. I also will not provide leniency for people that don't treat me with respect. If you get an infraction, be a man about it. Dont publicly bitch, talk to me one on one about why you think it's not fair. I am more likely to provide leniency for people that I know, because I know about them and how they are. Sometimes people slip up, or sometimes I can see why they NEEDED to bend or break a rule one time. There is nothing wrong with this, because if they let it go to their head and think they're immune to punishment I will quickly put an end to it. Basically, I treat respectable people with respect, I treat dirtbags like dirt. If you don't want me coming down on you, don't break the rules. This isn't a difficult concept.
Edit: I also feel it's necessary to point out that it's very inappropriate to raise your personal issues with another mod or admin in a public setting like this. If you have an issue with anything, I'd be more than happy to discuss it in private through PMs or with the other mods in the bat cave.
Edit 2: And before anyone raises a stink about what I said to Index, it was already in public, and he chose that setting to bring up his issues. I sent him a simple and dignified PM about what was up so as to present a situation in which everyone would be able to walk away without any arguments or anger because I didn't want it to be a big issue, and he chose to bring up the issue publicly. I stopped after 1 post because I said what I needed to, and there was nothing more to say after that.
