So apparently some guy is producing gun parts through 3d printing. He also created a website where anyone can submit and download blueprints for guns to print yourself. They successfully fired 600 rounds with one of those home-made machine guns.
I feel like this can all end catastrophically.

I'm pretty sure that 3D printers are expensive as fuck and that home-made lethal weaponry is still illegal.

And getting one could be hard too.

Actually the ATF don't consider them a threat as of yet. He is allowed to sell the parts that he is producing (low receivers) and there are no restrictions on people manufacturing firearms for personal use. That means it's perfectly legal for individuals to download blueprints and print them as long as their not selling them.
I'm not sure about their take on magazines though, some places like New York have banned certain sizes of them.

EDIT:

So apparently they have not been producing whole guns, but only some parts. None the less this means that some people are now simply waiting for a strong enough material to manufacture the whole thing. The ATF's seems to be approaching this pretty calmly. Seems to me like because it is not a problem now, it is not something that needs to be dealt with yet.
