So I just made some fried potatoes, onions and bellpeppers smothered with green chile.

Shit was so baller.

Is this the best meal ever?

I don't want to hear about anything you got in a restaurant. This thread is for meals you made yourself. If you think you can make something better than Jutsu, post the recipe so that we can check your claim.

Well it's far from the best meal I've ever cooked, lately I've gotten skilled at making fried rice.

Step one: start cooking 1/2 cup of rice
Step two: thinly slice choice of meat and start cooking in sesame oil with desired vegetables
Step three: let lid off fully cooked rice to dry while doing step four
Step four: mix up two eggs and cook into pseudo omelette, like a patty, then slice it into tiny bits
Step five: add rice and eggs to the meat and vegies, with 2 table spoons of soy sauce and 2 table spoons of oyster/hoisen sauce depending on the flavor you desire.
Step six: stir and fry rice until it's all browned from the sauce and everything is fully cooked, don't cook too long as it will stick to the pan.

Enjoy.

I don't know about the best meal ever but my girlfriend and I invented our own sushi roll that I cannot get enough of. I make our sushi from scratch, usually about 3 cups of sushi rice which we go through in one sitting with just the two of us. Generally I'll make hand rolls for easy eating but I've had a few variants in roll form as well.

The ingredients are: Avocado, Panko Bread Crumbs, Spicy Mayonnaise, and Crab

That's the base. You can remove Crab for a vegetarian version. Some variants:

- Adding cucumber for more crunch
- Adding tomagoyaki (sweet egg) for sweetness (optionally remove the spicy mayo or use regular mayo)
- Swap Crab for Tuna Tempura (which I prepare myself) adds warmth
- Tempura battered and deep fried in roll form

I prepare all the ingredients we feel like before hand and I make them based on whatever we want at the time. It's kind of a cool modular meal that I enjoy making. I don't pretend to be an expert sushi chef or anything, but this particular roll we pieced together based on what we personally enjoy in flavor and texture. It hits all the right spots especially with the variations if I feel like something sweeter/warmer/whatever at the time.

hot damn do I love making sushi. cucumber + avocado + crab + spicy mayo is our go-to recipe as well, never thought to use panko though, I'll have to try that next time. here's one of our more photogenic attempts:

Sushiiiii (Click to Show)

Mixing imitation lobster and spicy mayo together into a rough paste and spreading that onto the rice before adding ingredients is awesome as well, you should give that a try.

Anywho, I have a ton of easy and original recipes I can share, here's two off the top of my head:

Caramel Apple Pumpkin Cheesecake (Click to Show)

16 oz cream cheese (two packages), softened
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup sugar
1 can condensed sweetened milk
1 package cheesecake flavored pudding mix (might as well use the sugar/fat free variety, the end result tastes identical either way)
2 tsp Vanilla extract
1/2 tbsp pumpkin spice
1 cup apple butter (homemade in our case, but store bought is fine)
Caramel Sauce
Premade graham pie crust

This couldn't be easier. Mix the first 6 ingredients together until smooth and fluffy, then fold in the apple butter and pour into a premade graham pie crust. Pour a few spoonfuls of the caramel sauce on top and use a knife to swirl into the cheesecake. Refrigerate for absolutely no less than 4 hours, overnight is better. Done.

Chorizo Paella (Click to Show)

1 small can diced tomatoes
1 tube of chorizo
1 tsp diced garlic (or 1 clove fresh garlic, diced)
1 medium onion, diced
1 tsp tumeric
32 oz container fish stock (usually in the soup aisle next to the chicken broth, I think they're 1 liter)
1 lb box of long-grain rice
Bag frozen mixed seafood, thawed (mine had squid, mussles, cuttlefish, crab and shrimp)
Small bag frozen fully cooked shrimp, thawed with tails removed (about 2-3 cups worth)
1/2 cup frozen peas
1 lemon

• Get your biggest, widest frying pan and put it on medium heat
• Add a little cooking oil, about a tablespoon
• Once it's shimmering (about 2 minutes) drain your can of diced tomatoes and cook until the color deepens, about 3-4 minutes stirring constantly
• Add the tube of chorizo and mix. Cook for about 5 minutes. The pan should be full of juices from the chorizo and tomatoes, do NOT drain it. This is a good thing. A very, very good thing.
• Add onion, garlic and tumeric and cook until onion is softened, about 2 minutes
• Dump in your box of rice and stir until all of the rice is coated with the pan juices
• Add as much fish stock as your pan will comfortably fit (or the whole container if it's big enough) and heat until boiling
• Reduce heat, cover and let it simmer. Check every few minutes -- the rice will absorb the moisture very quickly, so keep pouring stock as it cooks until you've added the entire container, otherwise it might burn.
• If you're religious, now is a good time to thank your deity of choice for how amazing your kitchen smells right now. If not, thank me instead.
• After the rice absorbs all of the stock, have a taste to make sure the rice is cooked thoroughly. If it's still crunchy, add increments of 1/4 cup water at a time until the rice is done. 1 liter of stock for 1 lb of long-grain rice should be enough, though.
• Dump in your seafood mix, shrimp, peas and the juice of half a lemon and stir, cook until heated through, about 3-5 minutes.
• If you're feeling brave, at this point you can recreate the best part of an authentic paella, the "crust" of caramelized rice at the bottom. Simply crank the heat to high and let it cook for 1-2 minutes without stirring, then remove from heat. This part's entirely optional.
• Serve with lemon wedges

It might seem intimidating but the ingredients only cost about $30, it takes less than an hour to throw together and it's easily 8 servings, plus it keeps in the fridge very well for up to a week. Oh and it's probably the tastiest fucking thing you'll ever make, assuming you like seafood.

I have a ton more, I'll share them another time.

I hate Ramen. But me and my friend made a pretty kickass meal out of it.

Shit you'll need:
- Ramen
- Shredded Cheese
- Garlic salt

Pretty easy, boil the noodles. Don't use that gross flavor power shit, strain the noodles. Put that bitch in a pan and put some shredded cheese on there. Cook that shit until the cheese is melted. Put that bitch in a bowl and sprinkle a little bit of garlic salt on it.

This might sound extremely weird but my friend and I decided to get a little creative one day with steaks and it ended up tasting pretty good

The steaks we marinated in root beer (we also did ginger ale and it was good but not as good) for an hour, then while cooking we added in our "spices". Spices is in quotation marks because they were not what people would call spices. It comprised of sugar and a light dash of ginger on both sides and cinnamon on one side towards the end of cooking... Sounds weird but actually worth a try

pie (Click to Show)

Cooked straight out the oven. Pie is surprisingly easy to make. I followed the instructions of this video.

apple pie (Click to Show)

Once you have mastered meat pie, move to apple pie. Instructions. Yes that is Envoy's hand.

french toast and apple (Click to Show)

This was hands down the best meal I had on an airplane, so I tried to replicate it. To make french toast I just go with a ratio of 1/4 cup of milk for every egg beaten. Pour it on a plate and soak in that sandwich. You can go with a brief dip on either side to get for slices, or soak em up longer to get 2 slices. Yes the apple looks like shit, but it was great okay.
chilli (Click to Show)

Okay, this was my first attempt at chilli. It was alright, a little bland and not thick enough. Turned out I was missing some tomato sauce. Ate it with rice and crushed Doritos. Protip, If you want to crush Doritos but still want some whole chips behind, place a few in a plastic bag and crush it there. I took a number of recipes over the internet and made an average of the ingredients:
. 1 Onion
. 2 garlic cloves
. 1 tsp chilli powder
. 1 tsp paprika
. 1 tsp cumin
. 1/2 tsp cinnamon
. 1 tsp salt
. 500g ground beef
. 10 g/300 ml beef stock
. 500g tomatoes
. 400g red kidney beans
. I think I was recommended a tablespoon of tomato sauce.

To cook:
1. Cook onions and garlic on med heat with a bit of oil
2. Once translucent add in mince meat, cook till brown
3. Add in all the dry ingredients and mix well for 1 minute
4. Stir in tomatoes and stock.
5. Reduce to low for 30 minutes.
6. Add in beans and cook for 15 minutes.
