Throw down facts or misconceptions in this thread that more people should know about or need to be cleared up!

For instance, Frankenstein wasn't the name of the actual monster, but rather the scientist. The monster Frankenstein created was simply known as Frankenstein's monster. It's a fact that really has been misconceived time and time again.

Also, the fact that humans actually DO use 100% of their brain, however if you use all 100% at the same time, you'll have a seizure. But we do use all 100% of our brain, just some sections at different times.

Sugar does not cause hyperactivity in children. Double-blind trials have shown no difference in behavior between children given sugar-full or sugar-free diets, even in studies specifically looking at children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder or those considered sensitive to sugar.

The color red actually doesn't make a bull mad. It's the person waving the flag around that pisses the bull off.

I have a high metabolism. As for diseases...I won't eat to much over a short period of time.

I was going to link that too, Jombo, but I didn't want to ruin a potentially entertaining thread.

Way to go.

I was just going to post my favorites from that list that I think everyone should know about. Like this one:

Vaccines do not cause autism or autism spectrum disorders. Although fraudulent research by Andrew Wakefield claimed a connection, repeated attempts to reproduce the results ended in failure, and the research was ultimately shown to have been manipulated.

Well that takes the fun out of every bull joke I've made.

If we're going with misheard quotes spock never says "Beam me up, scotty."

Also carrots dont really help eyes compared to other veggies and spinach doesnt really give more iron and therefore muscles

and speaking of things made by the US: ninjas. The concept of a ninja wearing black, throwing shurikens, and walking on water are all Western concepts. In feudal Japan, ninjas were people wearing normal labor clothes who acted in subterfuge and deceit.

Women mostly orgasm from clitoral stimulation, vaginal penetration plays a small role.

With the exception of the G-spot the vagina doesn't have many nerve endings, only the entrance is really sensitive.

In other words, unless your dick is really really really small, it doesn't really matter.

Sign language is its very own legitimate language. ASL for example is not a direct translation of the English language.

Finally a good reason to convince OP to put down the noose.

This gives me hope. And +10 accuracy.

Also in the case of breathing. While it may seem that your diaphragm moves up (since your chest puffs out). Your diaphragm does not move up when you inhale, but contracts and moves down. This is to create lower pressure in your lungs to allow air to move in.

About sex, let's just say that in the end, all that matters is how you eat her out. You do it properly, and she'll give you a good time in return.

Should I talk about all the reasons how porn is fake? It's just too obvious.

anyways slightly relevant: here's a nifty chart explaining which supplements have actually been scientifically studied:

I was under the impression that this was common knowledge but, cool.

Anyway, a most mispronounced word is 'pronunciation'; most people tend to say 'pronounciation' as if they have an impulsive need to sound like a hillbilly, while the correct pronunciation of 'pronunciation' is 'pronunciation'.
