@Raffi: When you run out of ammo, you'll switch to your basic melee weapon, which is chosen by our class.

But maybe you could throw the gun at an enemy THEN switch to your melee weapon.

It causes half the damage that one of the bullets do.

Also, how about special moves? You could send a big shockwave covering the screen and kills every enemy in sight. And there could be a special move guage and you can only use the special move when it's full.

How bout After-Math mode. In which it takes place after the story. In this one there is much more zombies and alot less ammo. Supplies are harder to find, and so is weapons.

And Escape mode. This takes place AFTER After-Math mode, in which you have no weapons at all and no rations. All you have to do is run to the end of a selected area, In which City Center is the end. How bout this for some courses, if you like the idea.

Street- Quickest run through, not to many zombies.
House- Easiest run through, no zombies.
Docks- Medium run through, medium ammount of zombies.
Culv-a-sac(It's wrong, i know)- Medium run through, medium ammount of zombies.
Neighbor Hood- Long run through, medium ammount of zombies.
Suberb- Long run through, large ammount of zombies.
Outer City- Long run through, low ammount of zombies.
City- Medium runthrough, medium ammount of zombies.
Inner City- Quick run through, large ammount of zombies.
City Center- Very quick run through, very large ammount of zombies.

Edit: Here is a huge mode. Surivor mode (No this is not were you kill zombies) This takes place after Escape. If you could program this there will be 2 types of it.

If you escaped by chopper you will end in the snowy mountains.
If you escaped by boat you will end up on a island.

Mountains- Harder mode of the bunch. In this one you must find a way to survive for 100 days (you can edit that if you want), or you can find a way out (useally the hardest way you can win), You can use your downed Heli-copter as shelter until day 10 (if you use it after day 10 you will start loseing health by little bits, if stay there until day 20 you will die (remember you ca edit this))In the heli you can find the following.
Rations (Any day, search offten)
Knife (Day 1)
Fire Starter (Day 3)
Riffle (Day 7)
After that you are all on your own. If you get the riffle you will only have the starting ammo that you get for it.
After day 10 you will have to find another shelter (a cave?). And so on and so on.
But after day 80 (im guessing the days will be like 12 minutes?) there will be a winter storm, in which if you stay outside for to long you will die. You can find food here, but very rarely, To get food here you'll have to kill an animal, such as a bear.

Island- Easier of the bunch. It's the same way as The Mountains except you can't die from staying out too long, or from your shelter. Your boat can be your shelter for the entire mode. Since this is an island, if you sleep anyware besides your boat (like in the jungle area in the center of the island) you can die by animals. In your boat (which is way to far on land) you can find the following
Rations (During anyday)
Knife (After day 10)
Ammo (any day after 30)
Pistol (After day 30)
Riffle (After day 50)
Sniper Riffle (After day 80)
Flair (After day 90)
Since you can find alot of break able stuff on the boat, the Repair Man would be a pretty obvius choice here. You can find stuff on the beach (such as fish, if you can't find alot of rations). You can find weapons in the jungle area (in the middle of the island). But if you stay in there too long, animals can attack you.

This was very long, toke me a long time to type too. Hope you like it. You can edit whatever you want on this Ash. It's just an idea.

No, you need a slightly overpowered class, so that they dont die to easily, and then halfway through they can switch up to average diff if they wish.

Also, for leaderboards, you have to make it so they can only use two characters for it.

Over-powered classes are over-rated.

I've got an idea. Why don't you just except like those easy to die classes to the leader board and exclude the other classes.

Also, can we make like our own characters and stuff?

If you have one class that is more powerful than the rest, then there is no incentive to use any other class.

Yeah, the choosing of weapons. Say one of the classes has a colt, the other could be like an ex-marine, with an M-16.

Okay, would it even up stuff if you re-assigned the weapons, possibly?

The only weapon I'd be able to reassign is the default melee weapon. All the other weapons are found in the levels.

And I'll say it again, if one class is better than the others, why would anyone have a reason to use another class? Since they are more powerful (Faster, more accurate, stronger, tougher, etc) then they would always be the best choice.

To put it in a mathematical sense, imagine that this is the class selection page:

Class 1:
Accuracy:5/10
Toughness:5/10
Speed:5/10

Class 2:
Accuracy:6/10
Toughness:3/10
Speed:6/10

Class 3:
Accuracy:7/10
Toughness:7/10
Speed:7/10

Now, in that scenario, class 3 is the obvious choice. It would be completely pointless to use any other class, because it is better in EVERY WAY.

The proper solution is to make every class relatively equal by using a point allocation system similar to most RPGs. When i design a class, I can have 15 points that each class can have. So, every class' skill stats would add up to 15 each.

Class 1:
Accuracy:3/10
Toughness:8/10
Speed:4/10

Class 2:
Accuracy:5/10
Toughness:5/10
Speed:5/10

Class 3:
Accuracy:7/10
Toughness:2/10
Speed:6/10

This is the better way of doing it, because this makes all of the classes balanced out evenly, so that if a player prefers a more accurate character, they will choose class 3, because it can move in and out of a situation quickly and is very accurate, and as such makes a good sniper. However, the character isn't as tough, so the player will be forced to move around more because their health will deteriorate faster.

Also, another player may prefer to just grab a shotgun and power through the zombies, so he'd want to be more resilient to attacks because he'd be closer to the zombies. He would choose class 1, because it is very tough and wouldn't need to be accurate because it'd have a scattering weapon (Shotgun), but as a result wouldn't be as fast moving.

A beginning player who doesn't know if he would prefer the more accurate or tough character would be able to use class 2, which is equally quick, tough, and accurate, so that he could figure out which skill he relies on the most. NOte that it is still equally balanced, so it's not the only logical choice to get a high score with.

Can I give suggestion to classes and sort ?

Do the players level up ?
Try adding a different stat for every character . The "weapon" stat .
Limit the weapons they use at first . And raise the "weapon" skill to enable them to use that weapon .

Classes :
Add a merchant class .
Every weapon they collect increases 0.25 percent than from normal classes do .

Is it a complicated game ?
If it is , better not trouble yourself ...

How about having Ash as a bonus character?
Boomstick and chainsaw amirite?

Graphics wise, are we talking coloured dots, or full blown full body top down characters?

EDIT//
Knowing you Ash, this game will be packed with homages, how about some stealth elements, like your character can't be found if he/she are hiding in a pile of dead bodies (Just make it a Zombie AI blind spot). To counter-act people just hiding like girls, make their health decrease at intervals (Not over time, cos that would make the run and gunning tactic a bit hard)?
Deadface.

I know exactly what game you mean, but I'm saying that what I have planned is NOT like it.

The original boxhead is the one I was talking about, toohttp://www.addictinggames.com/boxheadtherooms.html

I said that the gameplay wouldn't just be killing zombies, it would be finding new weapons (Not just having them suddenly appear in your inventory), finding good places to camp, and looking for food and ammo. NOTHING like boxhead except for the fact that it has zombies and guns.

@Raffi: When you run out of ammo, you'll switch to your basic melee weapon, which is chosen by our class.

That's not the original Boxhead. This is.

What program are you making it in? I can give better ideas if I know the program.
