I could say you're pretty good. Idk if you've improved though cuz I haven't seen any of your past animations to compare.

Yeah man i think you improved, the anim looks nice apart from the fact that around the part after the sword transforms(?) things get kinda fast and hard to follow, maybe slow it down a bit.

1.) The victims were literally just accepting their deaths with wide, open arms. At the very least, let them dodge so they give the impression they're alive.

2.) The blood doesn't have the proper form in this situation. It reminds me of "Corn's" style but please do take into account that blood lines aren't actually really lines. They're actually tiny points and it's the velocity(Gravity) that's making the center of the mass speed up faster than the rest, making it form a trail of blood. Of course, this differs from the object interacting with the blood splatter but a sword is like an extension of your arm, so make bigger, solid clumps of blood instead of multiple lines.

I got you some reference(Anime: Hitsugi No Chaika)
"Point of explosion" (Click to Show)

"Blood dissipates and spreads out" (Click to Show)

3.) The tempo of your animation is constant. Well, taking into consideration of the length, I guess it can't be helped. "Tempo" is a factor in fight sequences that gives the viewers sections of time for different build ups. A straight analogy of this would be from a piece of music. A song with slow beat then fast beat and goes to a different beat is a whole lot more entertaining to listen than a song with the same tempo all throughout.

No problem.

You should focus on animating reactions as you already know it's your weakness.

I like it, you're a lot better with sounds than me lol. I would suggest trying to have a frame where the sword actually makes contact with the guy on the bigger swings, and maybe make the trails a little larger. The trails should extend out a bit longer than the sword itself, at least that's what I do. That's really good though, nice work!

Everything seemed pretty decent. One thing that I haven't seen mentioned yet:
Don't rely too much on the trails to illustrate movement!

Hey terk, can you help us out? I'm only posting this here because your inbox is full:

This thread was originally posted by you: http://forums.stickpage.com/showthread.php?38318-The-Guide-to-Critiquing

It had anims that used to be on filize. But recently the site had a reboot and 3/4s of the anims there are gone. As such, the anims in that page are not loading.

Could you spare some time makign some again or reupping the old ones?

Thanks.
