Ravin hefted Adric on his back, and placed him down away from the monster. By the time Samson was done with the spike, Ravin was ready to go to work. Precision was best used to save Adric. Not here. Dropping Cerulean, his hands shifted into cleavers. He knew where to make the cuts. If he wanted, he could make these cuts and sell them in the next city. But now was not the time for that. The mindflayer was certainly still alive. Good, Samson missed the brain. He cut open the chest, looking for his damage. A few organs were nicked, but no puncture. Good again. Now was time time to work. He cut out the organs that would hurt the most, but kill the least. After showing them to the creatures rapidly dying eyes, he chopped the arms off. After that, the legs, then the head. Not his best work. But nice and visceral.
He rushed over to Adric's side, and quickly sterilized his hands by placing them in his mouth, removing all the gore. Searching Adric's pack for anything, he found a flask of alcohol and a few vials marked "Big Bill's Healing Salve". A quick inspection showed this to be nothing more than Salt water and vinegar. Another search found a small, non-descript package marked with "In Case of Wounds/Death". Opening it, he found a small mound of mint smelling white paste. Getting a dab on his finger, he smeared it on both wounds. It made a fizzling sound, so that was a good sign. He uncorked the flask and held it up to Adric's lips.
"I tell you, were I a man of the cloth, I would think that the gods desired us to be killed"
Taking his hand, he stuck it in a fire that had not yet gone out, heating it up a fair amount. He then placed it on the wounds, burning them shut and stemming the loss of blood.
