"Ajar..." Septimius shook his head at the stupid simplicity of it. "You have to be joking... the door is not a door when it's ajar... hahaha this count has a sense of humor." He chuckled dryly and groaned at the foolishness of it all. "So then that must mean that we have to go through that door then?" He pointed at the house at the end of the path, with it's door ajar.

"Excellent!" Desmond smiled. "We need to get to that house but I'd rather have it scouted first."

He looked to Ghan who simply nodded and handed him the sack. "We can't risk the traps the vampires could make. After all plotting should be their best asset." The last sentence was more like a whisper.

Desmond and Ghan led the way. The stitched companion inched closer to the door and entered boldly and opened the door. Desmond waited for what he could see through Ghan's eyes.

Lifting her head Liss turned as she saw Adric speaking to the fox. Her eyes grew wide as she ran full speed over to the two, and she shifted into her human form. "A-adric... He talks?!" Her team mate then introduced him as Samson, which made her smile happily towards him. Running her hand over his fur she scratched under his chin. "He's so cute Adric!!" Liss was more than elated seeing the talking fox. He even bowed and made human like gestures like shrugging. "Can I hold him?!" Holding her arms out Liss wanted to hold the cutest little fox jumping slightly in place. "Please?!"

Samson looked smugly at Adric. He trotted over and hopped into Lissette's waiting arms. He extended a paw. "Nice ta meetchya doll! Samson, doe the ladies call me Sammy!"

"No one calls you that. No one calls him that" Adric interrupted. Samson gave Adric a look that could have cut through glass. He lowered his voice and leaned close

"If you'll excuse me pal, I'm trying to talk to my new lady-friend ovuh here!" Samson lolled his head back so he was looking at Liss. "So tell me sweethaut, how'd you wind up wit dat sack o crap for a pal?" Samson motioned towards Adric. Adric winced. He stepped gingerly forward, and whistled for Samson. Samson hopped down from Lissette's hands and mozied on over to Adric. Samson's smile dropped and he looked Adric dead in the eyes. "Sammatawitchyu!? That girl was a fox!" Samson cracked a smile at his own joke. Adric grabbed him by the scruff of the neck.

"You know what the three things I hate most in this world are?" Samson looked into the distance, quizzically.

"Don't tell me! It's uh... It's uh..." Samson's tail began wagging, trying to work out the answer, "OH! It's weak liquor, Me, and den puns! In dat orduh!" Adric smiled and pet Samson.

"That's correct, you ginger bastard!" Adric then began walking towards the doorway where Ghan and Desmond were standing. Samson wriggled nervously.

"Heyya pal," He chuckled nervously "Where uh, where we goin?" Adric cracked a wicked grin. He picked up speed.

"We're not going anywhere 'pal'. You're going through that door" Samson gulped and struggled to escape.

"Hey now pal, you know if I wanted ta I could turn you into a pillar ah salt!" Samson looked smugly at Adric. Adric kept walking.

"But then who would resolve that situation with the vampires then?" Samson opened his mouth for another retort. Adric placed him on the ground behind Ghan, and kicked him into the doorway. Samson cursed and yelled as he tumbled into the darkness.

"Adric, you seem to have a rather, um, tenuous friendship with the fox. Do you trust him?"

Adric looked at Ravin smiling. "Not at all Gray, not at all" He turned towards the doorway. "But I know him well enough to know that he wouldn't intentionally get us killed. Not when he needs to use us as a means to an end."

"Well then... if the answer is 'ajar' I guess we already know where to go next" She said while pointing at the door that was slightly open. Jessica simply heard Adric's conversation, she'd ask him later about that... fox... for now they have other priorities.

Ghan opened the door and was the first to walk in, Desmond using the minion as an extension of his eyes. By the looks of things, there were no hostiles inside the room, and no traps that were set. Ghan called to Desmond, who then turned and motioned to the others that it was alright to move in. All of them went into the dark room at a ginger pace, and as they looked around there was nothing but a piece of paper on the ground. Atop of the thin piece of parchment was a rusted copper key. Upon grabbing both the key and the paper, the second riddle became clear to them.

Paul's height is six feet, he works at a butcher's shop, and wears size 9 shoes. What does he weigh?

The stitcher entered the room and looked around. He took the paper from Ghan and held the key in his other hand. Desmond looked at the paper, scrutinized every detail before he ingested the puzzle that was written on it.

"Seems easy enough," Desmond smiled. "I'm guessing all of these are a play on logic as Ravin had said. Common sense is key."

Ghan proceeded to move around. "Paul works at a butcher's shop," Desmond paced back and forth. "The details, they trick the mind, it says his height, how many shoes he wears but the question is what does he weigh not how much."

The answer is meat. Hah, Ravin, I owe you a meal.

"So, it should be meat right?"

[OOC: should we have a bit more time at solving riddles? Coz I feel like if solving it faster like this feels weird even though Desmond is a genius.]

"Nice job with that one" Jessica said as her companions quickly solved the riddle. She noticed that one of them had a copper key, but she didn't know what was it for. Them Jessica stsrted to think... what to do next?, tjey had the answer but what would they do with it?. "I don't think there's a sort of door made out of meat right?" she giggled at her own thought. She then stomped the ground with her foot loud enough to give her the possibility to scan the house where they were in. It's worth the try looking for some clues.

First a pun, and now a play on words. Septimius shook his head, he didn't know if the count was making fun of them or if he actually thought these were challenging riddles. "Does anyone else think this stuff is just all a joke? I mean seriously... he's just playing with us right?"

"They're playing with our heads," Desmond said. "But I doubt it isn't for a simple reason other than to prolong our stay here. As we do pursue the Count's puzzle, someone keep an eye out."

Now for the key, the stitcher thought as he gazed to the copper tool in hand.

"The previous puzzle lead us here to this one should lead us someplace as well. The riddle we have now has a butchery in it and as the Count said, everything is locked or shut. A key opens locked things. If we can find a nearby locked butchery, that's our best bet now," Desmond explained but stopped in his heels. "But vampires don't eat meat do they?"

By the time Marcus made it to the house the group had already solved another riddle. That was two out of three, right? There's no way they could fail, and it almost even felt like the count was toying with them by making it so easy. Marcus had a horrible feeling in his gut that the games and madness hadn't even started yet.

After solving the riddle, the group has no idea what to do with the copper key. Of course the key has to do something with the answer, but what?

The answer is meat, but what does a key has to do with meat?

After a minute of thinking of many solutions, he thought of a few suggestions.

"Meat locker? Slaughterhouse? Barn? The key leads to one of those places because the humans here are either kept as livestock or as caddle for the butcher to harvest their blood."
