Ahriman notices the large crack in the floor. It seemed rather out of place in such a well-furnished room. He peers into it, his sight piercing the shadows.

Inside the house there was another note, with another riddle. Ravin knew the answer as intrinsically as he knew himself. Something to do with food? The answer was meat, of course. He hadn't had meat in what felt like an eternity. But the thought of a butcher's shop? Ravin could barely contain his excitement. Cured meats, salted meats, pork, steak, lamb, veal? He had never had veal before, and the thought of it made him fidgety. A feast for the ages. For him, of course.

Meat!? You make me sick! We should respect all creatures of the earth! Plants require no such slaughter!
It all depends. Can you grow a plant in the shape of a steak? I thought not

They reached the butcher quickly and Ravin rushed inside. If he had a face, it would be one of pure disappointment. All that was there was a book and various doors, most of them boarded up. The search for food had proven futile.

He sat upon the counter and began thumbing through the book. While other people would see boring transactions and dealings, Ravin saw an encyclopedia of all the wonderful things to try. If they survived, he would most definitely try every item listed. Leafing through it, he wandered upstairs to the storeroom where some of the others.

On the piece of parchment was a wanted poster, depicting a photo of a fox. Actually, the fox looked a lot like Samson. As Marcus and Liss glanced underneath the bed, they found nothing but more dust. There didn't seem to be anything worth looking for here.

Meanwhile, as Ahriman looked through the crack in the floor, he could see a small sliver of light shining from below. It had to be coming from downstairs. As Jessica moved the rug and table, she found something much more satisfying than a crack. There, right where the rug once was, was a trap door with a heavy lock keeping it closed.

"Dang it! There's nothing down here, Liss." Marcus stood up and looked at his woman's beautiful green eyes, grinning wide. "I don't know why I'm looking under bed's when the real treasure is right here in front of me." Marcus grabbed Lissette's soft hand and placed a kiss on her cheek. He turned his back to the beautiful priestess and hunched over a bit, "Would you like me to carry you, darling?"

Mindlessly, Liss looked with Marcus, however looking under the bed seemed a little bit redundant. Getting back up onto her feet Marcus smiled at her and it made her blush immensely even before he began to compliment her. "I...I don't think we're looking for treasure. J-just a feather." Liss hadn't been exposed to this much flattery before, but she watched Marcus get near her and kiss her cheek. The only way he knew she was blushing was because it was the only warm surface on her body. Turning his back to her she smiled widely and hopped on his back instinctively and wrapped her arms and legs around him. "Let's try and be a bit more reasonable with looking for things." Whispering into his ear she pressed her cheek against the scar she made on him and nuzzled him, still feeling bad for hurting him.

Marcus stumbled a bit when Liss hopped onto him, but quickly regained his balance and stood up. He liked carrying her, not because he thought she was defenseless or something and needed the help, or that she was a woman, but because to Marcus she was his queen and he knew she liked the innocent playful nature of things. If anything, that's what made Marcus appreciate Lissette so much. She always found a way to make danger fun, and her silly comments about things were almost too much to handle at times. "If you say so, deary! We shall investigate more practical things." Marcus grabbed the key off of the night stand in case they needed it later and started to exit the bedroom with his lovely lady.

When Liss pressed her cheek against his scar, he knew Lissette was still upset about hurting him. He felt a warm sensation in his heart. Marcus knew Lissette truly cared about him, and was sorry about what she had done. To him, she was still more of an angel than he was.

"Well now, look what we got here" she said smiling as Jessica spoted the trapdoor "I think I got it" she said as she withdrew her sword, "A quick swift slash should do the job". She had an impressive accuracy when it came to close-combat and small slashes, she kneeled and took her sword to then swing it towards the lock of the trapdoor attempting to open it.

OOC: Samson't got a Boston/Newsie accent. Think "Max" from "Sam & Max". It'll be easier to read if you sorta know the accent

Adric entered the shop and looked around. They were looking for a door, or something to that description. He knew he had to be on his top performance. He had to keep focused. He could let nothing distract him. He took a deep breath. He smelled ale. There are plenty of people trying to find that door he said, as he moved into the barrel room. Septimius was busy looking around with the candle. Adric could have kissed him.

"Septimius my friend!" Adric said, clapping him on the back, "I would gladly abandon my search for the feathers now! We have found something better" Adric added grumbling "And we aren't under the constant threat of being torn limb from limb" Adric sat down and began filling his flask. He offered it to Septimius. "But" Adric warned "Take your time. There is only a finite amount! We must acknowledge that there will not be much to spare!" Adric produced dozens of vials from his pack and began filling them one at a time, whistling a lighthearted tune.

"Say, whatchya doin wit my mug on a scrap of papuh?" Samson piped up, appearing in the room next to Ghan. Samson sniffed the paper, looking it up and down. "Dose idiots! Look at dat jaw-line! Horrid!" Samson trotted around the room in a huff. "Sunzagunz want my pelt, da least dey could do is get my pictuh right! Look at dat! Dat's an auburn! I'm ahbviously a ginguh!" Samson sniffed some dust absent mindedly. "Actin like I don't duhserve a nice pictuh of me. It hurts, ya know!" Samson looked at Ghan. He cracked a smile. "Look on da bright side pal! No one on da face of de Earth would want a pictuh of your ugly mug!" Samson scampered quickly away, and tried to find someone else to bother. He found Marcus and Liss.

"Hey dere sweetheart!" Samson grinned hopping up to the base of Marcus' huge legs "How's muh favorite gal doin?" Samson's eyes narrowed. Here was his best gal, in the arms of some over-armored buffoon. Samson puffed up hs chest, and attempted to make his voice drop into a lower register. Neither were effective "Hey lady, dis guy boderin' you?" Samson looked Marcus up and down. Or, tried to at least. He had to take a few steps back to "size up" his competition. And Samson's competition was definitely a few sizes up. I could take him Samson thought, putting on an aloof look of casual dismissiviness towards Marcus.

Septimius grinned as he took the flask. "It's a pity too." He swallowed a mouthful of the fine ale. "This is very good stuff." He chuckled. He refilled the amount he drank and screwed the cap back on. "You don't mind if I keep this one for myself?" He shook the metal flask then pocketed it. He licked a droplet from his lips and smiled at the warm feeling that ran down his throat. He was tempted to take another drink, but drinking now wasn't a good idea. He helped Adric fill the rest of the vials as he waited for Jessica and Ahriman to open the trap door.

For some reason, as Jessica smashed her sword against the lock of the trapdoor, nothing happened. She tried it once, twice, and three more times, however she simply could not break it. The lock was enchanted, meaning that they actually needed the key to open it.

Catching the figure of the fox, and hearing the quite familiar accent, Liss instantly turned and smiled brightly. "Awww! Hi Sammy!" Looking down at him from Marcus' back she giggled playfully before resting her chin on the angels. "Look at his chest all puffed out Marcus!" Her bright green eyes looked down at him as he asked if Marcus was bothering her. "Of course not. Marcus wouldn't bother me!" Leaning down a bit she wanted to make grabby hands towards the fox, but looked at Marki. "We need a pet fox. Just putting that out there." Looking back down at Sammy she tilted her head to place it against the angels. "More specifically one that talks."

"What?" She said surprised that the lock didn't break on her first attempt, she kept trying even with stronger slashes the lashback of her own charged sword made her stumble backwards on her last attempt, it was then that she realised that ot wasn't a normal lock. She yelled downstairs "Desmond!!, I need the key! I think we found the lock"

Desmond heard the yell of Jessica about the lock and immediately dashed for where he heard the woman's voice. Ghan was surprised at his master's speed, usually this only happened when they stole food at the marketplace on their first days of freedom.

"Yeah?" Desmond arrived on the room, where Ahriman, Jessica and Septimius were present, he handed the key to Jessica and smiled. "To the person who found it, will open it.

Marcus smiled at Lissette's words, "Maybe he could come live with us on the farm that I plan on acquiring after this quest. I like his spunky attitude." Hearing Jessica call out for a key, Marcus felt like the key he found might be of some use. "Why don't you join us, Sammy? I'm sure Liss wouldn't mind carrying you."

Marcus began to head out of the room and up the stairs with Lissette on his back and an open invitation for Samuel to join.

"Key?" Boris widen his eyes as he heard Jessica call for Desmond for the copper key he found earlier. Another thing that triggered was that he also holds a key that sat next to the leather tome. What if this is the key? What does Jessica mean by lock? He darted towards her location while still holding the book and key. Why hold the book? Who knows? It might hold a small note inside its pages or something. It wasn't just sitting out there for nothing while sitting parallel to a key.
