Awakening

You wake up. Sort of. You're in that groggy state where it can go either way. It feels kinda chilly. You keep your eyes closed because you're still considering whether or not you want to go to sleep.

[] *Pfft.* Chill, smill; Roll over and go back to sleep.
[x] Use one hand to search for the blanket.
[] Just lay there until you go back to sleep.
[] Since you're already half-awake you might as well go all the way. (Wake up.)


Look for Blankie

You sleepily grope around for the blanket, to no avail. You do, however, find a small hard object. Well, it's better than nothing. You cradle the object against yourself and shift yourself into a more comfortable position before returning to your slumber.

Time passes. You slowly extricate yourself from the shallow mud-puddle that is your unconscious. The first sense that comes online is, obviously your sense of touch, which tells you that your body is quite chilled. You were sleeping on what you assume to be a stone floor/ground. From the sound of your breathing, the room you're in seems quite spacious... You open your eyes and sit up. The first thing you do is inspect the thing you were cuddling in your sleep. You look down and lock sockets with a grinning skull. "Gah!" In surprise, you throw it away from yourself. It bounces off the stone wall and falls down into a- hmm, it appears that you were sleeping on a ledge.

After calming down a bit, you give your surroundings a closer look. You find that you are stuck in some sort of rectangular shaft. The opposite wall seems to be about 5-6 feet away. The ledge you're on covers up half of the hole. Looking up, you see another ledge similarly covering the opposite side above you. It's placed quite high up, but you may be able to reach it if you jump. A faint light filters down from above. Looking down, you see nothing but pitch black, however, you feel a breath of warm air brush past you, so there may be something down below. Littered around you are the scattered remains of some poor unfortunate soul, whose skull you accidentally misplaced.

Up, up, and Away!

Though you are a bit curious about below, you decide against descending. With a bit of a "hup!" you begin your ascent. Hours go by. As you climb higher, you see the light growing stronger and stronger, and you notice the shaft growing more narrow. Suddenly, the light disappears. You wait for a while as your eyes adjust. Looking up, you see that it is nighttime.

*But then where was that light coming from?* you wonder.

You decide to figure out that puzzle later. Right now, you're just one step away from fre- being at the bottom of a well. Okay. Luckily for you, it isn't that deep. Maybe twice, three times your height, and it's narrow enough that you can scale it without much trouble. Hearing a grinding sound, you look down and see a slab of stone slide in and seal the hole where you came through.

*No turning back now.*

You begin your climb.

Reaching the end, you stick your head out the top of the well, and find yourself nose-to-nose with the biggest wolf you have ever seen.
