I think he survived after all. He just lost his leg. Or maybe not, because it looked like he was being torn apart from that explosion.

People are probably not tryouting because their level is higher or lower then the one expected. Also, if I was you, I would nor promess to change the due date. I would do it at the last minute if needed.
