Your movements are extremely stiff and you only move like one or two limbs at a time. Whenever anyone does anything, their entire body moves, even if ever so slightly so it's very awkward watching only one limb move while everything else is completely still. Also, try to keep away from doing faces in pivot, in general they usually look really ugly and don't add anything to the animation either. Finally, I really think you shouldn't be doing angles until you've got a solid or at least functional grasp on the fundamentals, like easing, flow of movement, smoothness between frames. You're skipping a lot of steps and jumping straight into trying to do something that encompasses a lot of things you don't yet know how to do and as a result the final product comes out looking awkward and clunky. Well in the end, all it really boils down to is "practice makes perfect" so really try to do some practice in the ares that you're lacking and eventually you'll understand how everything works

Lol, I'm not making fun of you, I'm trying to help you out by constructively criticizing your work. I don't know if you improved or not, but you still have a lot to work on, especially with easing, there really isn't a lot of that in this animation

This reply literally gave me autism.

Your attitude reminds of that of a little brother, a brat. Get used to people criticizing your animations. It will happen for as long as you choose art as your hobby, and people may not be as kind in their criticism as Drone was. Yes, like I said on the Dojo, you have improved on your easing. But you haven't exactly mastered facial features, movements and the like. When someone tells you exactly what's wrong with your animation, they show you what you can work on to improve. Sometimes you have to dig into their criticism to find the problem but Drone literally, straight up said the problem and suggested how you could fix it. That is in no way " trying to make you downgrade" your animation skills or quality. We all have trouble accepting criticism when we first start out but you deliberately argue against it and accuse the criticizer that they are rude, breaking forum rules, or attempting to hinder your abilities.

I can see dat you have improved but yo anim and skills still need work bro

Just sitting back and watching you Pivot animators post anims and thinking your getting better. Listen to Drone. His Advice really helped me improve. And just get used to the way he will talk about your anims.

Wow Drone, way to be a dick. I mean, I thought I was insensitive and blunt when I criticized animations but you take the cake on this one.
Literally everything Drone said is true. There's no point in practicing easing if you're only going to move two joints at a time in an animation. Start with some simple walk and run cycles to work on moving multiple limbs at a time, as well as you're easing.

LOL NOPE

Faces CAN add to an animation if you really know what you're doing.
Otherwise, I agree to most of what you said there, Drone. Although, Practice isn't a crucial part of improvement. TJ will naturally improve if he just keeps animating. Let the boy have some fun, damnit lol. besides, it's very, very natural to make something not so good at such a young age (assuming TJ is 11~13). Even if he wants to, he wouldn't be able to make stuff as precise as necessary. His skills will basically grow with him. You cc is pretty good, I am not going to lie, but for a child like TJ, I don't think that giving him all of this details about easing and flow would have some point at this stage.
But yeah, since I'm here, why not as well give you some cc, TJ?
So, for the most part, you animation needs some work in terms of animating's basics such as easing, foot placement, flow, smoothness and all of those shenanigans. But the things that I want you to focus on is your foot placement and stiffness because you have no idea how much working on those two will improve you. It would be like magic to you when you finally master those two. If you look closely at the "2D" part of your animation, you'll notice that you mostly didn't move the orange handle and quite a few of the red dots, you sometimes move the arms, then move the legs alone when you feel like it. That's wrong. Make sure you move every single dot you see in your screen! Everyone. Do not miss any dot when you're animating, okay? It might be difficult to you because you may be "lazy", but you really have to get stiffness down if you want to improve. With that said, I'd like to point out how wrong your foot placement is: You see, when one walks, his foot sticks to the ground until it moves again to move another step forward. What you did there is making the feet slide everywhere. To clarify it to you. I'll make you a diagram

So yeah, just keep animating, consider what I've told and as well as reading lots and lots of tutorials, and have some fun ^^'. It's also nice to see that you're experimenting with new things, so don't repeat the same mistake I did and listen to what they tell you about getting away from angles because this will most likely make you stuck in 2D for a very long time, and when you're ready to move to prespective, you'll find a hard time doing so. Just don't neglect 2D and make some 2D tests from time to time if needed.

Oh I've been here daily. In the shadows. Looking at how you peeps are doing. And I'm good thanks. |
And Drone is not a woman hahahaha
Anyways. Just try some basic walk or run cycles. It's a first to start to learn easing and movements.
