It's well known that many people hate furries and furry stuff. I guess it's because the most visible furries are often the worst examples of the fetish. There's nothing wrong with fetishes, but those 'visible furries' are the ones that TV shows and other news sites focus on because of the 'shock factor'. Those furries are the ones that have the delusion that everyone hates furries, and that they are oppressed, so they lash out at every thing that even remotely looks like hate on furries. They stir shit up in other communities, giving themselves a bad rep. As such. people generalize all furries from that, and form a lot of negativity towards them, all based on stereotypes and bad opinions. That's one of the reasons why people hate furries.

Speaking of, I found this that kinda sums up the general public's opinion on furries.


Fact 1: Most furries don't look or act like furries. They don't shove their fetishes down other people's throats.
Fact 2: I might as well say this. I'm kind-of a furry. More of a scalie (guy who likes anthropomorphic lizards instead of mammals). And I don't act like it, because I have common sense.

Furries are just people with an interest or fetish in furry stuff. Most of them are decent people. It's actually the same case with bronies. In the end, they just have different interests from the 'general public'. To criticize other people for their interests, even going as far as to verbally and physically harm and abuse them, is even worse than to be one of those 'visible furries'.

Back on topic, I don't think furry means 'bestiality'. Anthropomorphic animals aren't even real. Furries have fetishes for something that aren't real. It's a fantasy. Elves don't exist and look at how many people love Zelda.

Ok, seriously, why would you say anything like that? Attacking others just because you don't agree with their interests alone is wrong, but straight up poisoning them is inhumane. Even if you don't like furries, they were at a damn con, not just randomly running up to people or other shit. Literally, just among their peers, and they were attacked. I can't find any reason or scenario where that's even a little understandable.
