vs
Dubstep?
Yeah. I think Metal wins because of its sheer number.
Personally, I'm into some Prog Metal myself.
Dubstep or Heavy Metal?

I choose Heavy Metal over Dubstep. I like the kind of Metal that keeps your blood pumping. Dubstep is just a compilation of sounds, and that's about it. I'm sure there are some good Dubstep songs, but other than that, it's just a huge mesh of noises.
Vote goes towards Heavy Metal.
And like what Hewitt stated, there are many other genres of Metal than just Heavy Metal.

Did logic really mean dubstep as just the genre dubstep, because I feel like he might have misconstrued the word dubstep as an umbrella term for the many (arguably) similar genres with different names

That would be my guess. However, simply because I do listen to metal more, I picked heavy metal. Give me some Symohonic Metal or Power Metal any day.

I've always thought heavy metal was a subgenre of metal, the distinct sound of it basically sounding like Judas Priest or Black Sabbath. But then again, I don't really pay much attention to music genres. After a little research I'm guessing I was thinking of "traditional heavy metal."
If this was Heavy Metal vs EDM I'd def go for EDM though simply for the fact that I'm growing closer to it while growing away from Heavy Metal.

So dubstep doesn't have a beat? It doesn't have the defining element of it that people like to call the "bass drop"? It's really just a compilation of sounds and that's it? Come on.

Dubstep is a constant disappointment for me. Heavy metal isn't that great either, but at least the songs of that genre have a good track record of keeping me in the atmosphere that they set me up for. Dubstep has a habit of building me up for a good time, but shits all over itself once the "bass" drops. Uncoordinated chaos mixed with wubz and wobbles doesn't do it for me, it just breaks me out of the immersion.
Heavy metal for me.
Heavy metal for me.

Apples or Oranges? Which should I pick?
Ooh, Granny Smith apples or deco?
No, maybe I want honeybells, or sour oranges?

Please...:
Even tho this isn't their best 'heavy metal' song, damn.. Metal is by far better than dubstep.. I have to get drunk as fuck and 420 blaze it to enjoy dubstep..
