A secret to making buildings is to draw 3-5. They're just blocks, essentially. Then, copy-paste them everywhere, with ones further back having a lower opacity so they seem to blend into the atmosphere. Should help you time-wise.

Hmmm... Nice idea. That'll help quite a bit actually. But what I'm having trouble with is the buildings themselves. I'm wondering if I should just draw rectangles or if I should add details. I wanna add details but I suck at drawing :p

You can likely just make a rectangle with additional rectangles coming off of it, or a moral rectangle with a sort of tower on top. All that matters is the general silhouette. Details could be cool, but they shouldn't be the primary focus. After all, it's the background. If you feel the need to add details, you can add tiny black rectangles to signify windows to give more of a sense of scale.

There are still quite a few participants who either haven't made their progress thread, or haven't informed me of it. Come on, people! Those threads are important!

I'm regretting this decision already, but sadly i must drop out of the competition. Basically i just overestimated my skills just a bit and without paying attention it turned out i was doing tons of things at once. I've cleared most of that up now, but i only have a bit more than a month to finish this and something I'm working on for my friends. And only two weeks to finish an RHG battle. I really wanted to join this though, don't get me wrong on that. I'll continue on my animation later as a passion project and see if i can get it sponsored that way. And if i somehow magically end up getting this done before the due date, then if no one takes my movie by then I'll re enter if that's possible. Thanks anyway though! As it is, you can consider FF7: Advent Children up for grabs.
