- Wields an indestructible metallic staff called Archangel; it is capable of levitation and can lift New Jehu with it. He has a telekinetic-like bond with Archangel. It can move around on its own, and act according to his will. New Jehu can call Archangel back to him. He also tends to use Archangel as a blunt projectile or even slingshot as it can build up velocity really quickly. When used as a projectile, Archangel will most likely knock the opponent out or disorientate them, especially if it makes contact with their head. Its velocity and levitation power is enough to knock objects or people back or into the air and can move weights that reach almost a ton. New Jehu travels on Archangel by standing on it and surfing on air.
- Archangel can syphon holy energy from Heaven to “bless” New Jehu with a Divine Aura in which his body becomes near-invincible, with hugely enhanced speed, power, reflexes and durability. In this state he can repulse powerful amounts of holy energy from his body as well as Archangel that will blow back enemies. New Jehu can expel the same powerful holy energy into the body of his opponent in order to perform a Divine Surge on the opponent. Divine Surge shuts down the opponent’s body with an excess of energy that will either leave the opponent temporarily paralyzed, make them pass out, negate any supernatural abilities, destroy their bodies (depending on whether they are supernatural beings or not, robots or cyborgs will get short circuited by the Divine Surge) and effectively end the battle. New Jehu can only perform Divine Surge if he touches the opponent with Archangel as it is the conduit for Heaven’s energy.
WEAKNESSES/SHORTCOMINGS
- Vulnerable to the elements, weapons, poisons etc.
- Archangel is metal and can therefore conduct intense heat/electricity which could hurt New Jehu, although any holy energy from the Divine Aura would absorb and negate the conduction, leaving New Jehu unharmed.
- New Jehu can’t attack or defend against what he can’t see.
- New Jehu can’t attack what is not tangible.
- If New Jehu is kept out of direct contact with Archangel, he cannot initiate the Divine Aura state, nor can he perform Divine Surge.
- If the opponent is able to avoid physical contact with Archangel, then New Jehu cannot perform a Divine Surge on the opponent.
- New Jehu is susceptible to mind control, illusions and similar techniques or abilities, but his strong will, mind and faith will eventually cause him to break out of it.
- Archangel is susceptible to telekinesis, enhanced gravity and magnetic fields, but its bond to New Jehu is will negate such manipulation(s) when called to him or acting to his will.
- New Jehu’s body can’t contain the excess holy energy in his body during Divine Aura for too long or it will take it its toll on him. Also, he is usually slower and weaker for a while right after the Divine Aura has ended. If New Jehu performs a Divine Surge, his Aura will end as all the energy is leaving his body and entering the opponent’s, also leaving him weakened.
STORY
He was a violent thug who was converted and trained by a Christian Sensei. His spiritual growth activated a dormant Holy energy within the staff; Archangel, a staff rumoured to have come down from Heaven. He then renamed himself New Jehu after King Jehu in the bible, who brought down the enemies of God. He and the staff are bound to each other, this bond is strong and the staff’s combat capabilities are reflected in his ever-growing faith. For this very purpose, New Jehu prays and trains every day. He has embraced his new found purpose as “New Jehu” and has travelled to RHG where he believes God has sent him to be a light and benevolent friend to the other gladiators, to save them from their own meaningless violence and vanity. He also believes that he has been sent to RHG to experience trials that will test him and make him stronger, more able to carry out his mission and have an even stronger influence on the other gladiators.
