No , he can have whatever you want him to have , though personally I would give him a weapon just because it's more interesting to have a weapon fight instead of a guy with a sword kicking the crap out of some random guy .

There are rules, set on the first post, the post starting the thread. One guy has to have a sword, but the other guy can have whatever you want. Special powers, another sword, knives, whatever you want.
