Here's a weakness idea. If his daggers are made from his blood, perhaps the more he summons, the more exhausted he gets? Any more than say, ten daggers, would make him collapse from blood loss. Adds some realistic restraint.

I mean, the guy can't be an immortal fountain of blood, right?
