Quote from mizuBepler forcibly bought me cs:go so woo hoo. I haven't played it much but it seems like it's got a meta to to it. I don't get the whole "Skins" thing though, this game has a fucking workshop so what's the point of them?
Quote from JombloxxWhy didn't you just use the market to buy it?
Quote from Captain CookHonestly I used to like CSGO....
Quote from sssHave you even played a single competitive game? The hit detection in 64tick servers that are used in MM is pure shit, that's why all tournaments and league matches are held at 128tick servers.
Spray patterns help reduce the randomness factor which is a big no-no in competitive gameplay, even tho the game is still filled with lucky shots, spray patterns make the player responsible and in control for where his bullets are going, instead of just holding mb1 and hoping for a lucky kill.
Controlling the full spray of each individual weapon might be hard to handle, but all of the spray patterns for the first 3-5 bullets is pretty much the same-pull the gun down.
I can see why you're thinking that nobody uses shotguns and only go for p90, that's because you're a fucking silver scrub and everyone who tries to rush in with a p90 in higher level play get's shot down instantly 9/10 times.
Smg's are still used as run and spray weapons during anti-eco rounds when the enemies usually don't have armor and are only wielding pistols. Due to low firepower of smgs, buying them in full-buy rounds is useless unless you like hitting an armored opponent for 10hp per bullet.
There are some people that substitute AR's for shotguns if they're holding tight corners, for example Inferno apps as ct's.
Killing the enemy using purely your aim and reflexes IS something very useful, but thanks to the tactical side of the game, even players with shittier aim can outplay others using tactical flashes, holding smart angles and having map awareness. CS:GO is focused on playing as a team, so communication is the key, even if your team is filled with people that can individually kill everyone on the enemy team, if there's no communication and you all are just running like headless chickens, chances are- you will lose. But then again, I don't expect that you've experienced any of this at your silver rank either
Quote from Captain CookWhat the fuck did you just call me? How about you fucking swallow my dick and nuts, faggot.
I did mention these gripes to a friend who's put in a lot of time, and he mentioned the 64 tick servers. What I was kind of addressing was how the hitdetection is better in CSGO than it is in other competitive shooters.
Call me a silver schlub, but yeah, you rarely see SMGs on solid buy rounds, since they're worthless to armor.
So instead of using like, an SMG in a CQB map, you'll probably shell out for a shit AR, since armor completely defeats SMGs. I only mentioned the P90 because it's a very friendly gun that has the potential to outshoot ARs up close.
I just find that the learning curve is so steep, and although it's nice that there isn't some terminal "good" level, and every player is on a slightly different level, the game becomes incredibly difficult for silver surfers such as myself.
But really, my main this with this game is the shooting mechanic. It's cardboard cutouts sliding along the ground and shooting each other. There isn't any interesting movement mechanic or interesting ways to approach situations. You just slide to where you're going.
But you wouldn't understand any of this, rav. You're just a gay.
