Samus, in Korea. We don't really have tournaments but I'm probably in the upper half of good players. No way to know tbh though.

Yeah I would love to play against him but I'm sure the connection from there to here would be rocky.

You should totally set up tournaments. Going from just playing frendlies and practicing to actually playing in tournaments helps you improve a ton. Even things like playing moneymatches can help with tournament nerves. I've lost like 22 dollars in moneymatches and I play much better under pressure now.

My internet's pretty good. I don't know if it will be too smooth, but maybe we can try? I've played against players from other countries and it's worked decently at worst.
I tried maining Falco for a while, it is very difficult if you are an aggro player. I hated the fact that I could only get in like three or four hits despite me reading my opponents DI, it is very hard to follow up with the right moves. However, Falco looks very cool in top level play so it's definitely worth it hahah.

I just main Falco because I'm shit at fox, and everyone else who doesn't have a shine :p
Who do you main? Fox, I'm guessing?

I mean we would, but not enough people come per week to really have a local. Most people prefer friendlies since that way they get more matches than a RR, and most of them play for fun rather than to get better.

Ah, that kinda sucks but y'know, it's better than nothing. I wouldn't play nearly as much as I do if I didn't have local tournaments though lmao. If you're planning to get better you should moneymatch people close to your skill level though, it doesn't even have to be that much money because playing for something really helps with staying focused and using what you've learned in a real set.
I actually have a solid Fox but I can't double laser for the life of me. Also I miss 50% of my waveshines. But other than that it's pretty good!
Also, who do you guys think is the favorite for best player this year? I know Hungrybox is the obvious choice but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Mango or Armada started taking tournaments now that EVO's over. I'm hoping for Mew2King to take a major though, he's been playing really well at times but he hasn't won anything in a long time... :c

I mean yeah, but no one wants to MM if all they want to do is have fun. We only have three set-ups and that's only if the venue owner lets us have that much out at once. Sometimes we only have one set-up open since that's all we're allowed. No one wants to do a full set when you have like three other guys behind you waiting to play.

Unless Mango wins literally every tournament he enters from now on, I can't seem him make a comeback since his performance at EVO and Clutch City Clash. Armada is Armada and M2K... we'll see after Smashcon.

That's a bummer :/ The most important thing to have in a local is dedicated players and a lot of setups. Oh well, at least you have a venue, we're still looking for one. We're meeting up in a players house with three setups in it, but everyone knows eachother so it's fine lol. It does make it kind of harder to get new players though.

I'm definitely not the biggest Mango supporter but I know he can do it, his performance at WTFox and tournaments prior to that were fantastic so I wouldn't count him out yet.

If I know anything about the FGC, it's that it never really dies lmao

Yeah, our venue is awesome. It's the same venue that a lot of the Korean FGC gather around (Infiltration, sometimes Poongko, etc). We still don't see them often since smash and SFV have different time slots, but the venue also doubles as a bar where we can get alcohol and food. The scene is small enough where we don't really need more than three set-ups anyway, so it's perfect for us. Maybe not to do MMs, but it's good enough considering how hard it is to get a venue in a PC-dominated country.

I would've believed you if Mango didn't get DE'd by SFAT at CCC. He still has a pretty shite record against Hbox right now.

Smashcon... never count Mango out. He actually did amazing, I was cheering for m2k but he was playing on point. Smash4 was pretty hype too.
