It's coming up again soon, if we're pulling any pranks we should probably start planning them now.

I don't have an idea but I would like to suggest we avoid doing anything that actually pisses anyone off. Last year's "prank" where we got rid of RHG was way too obvious and genuinely angered a lot of people, we should try for something a little more subtle this time.

I had proposed an idea, but unfortunately it wasn't possible because of complications.

We could probably do something controversial if we keep it local to SP now that I'm the web programmer here. I can also push ideas past CJ in person so we can think on bigger scale if you wanna get creative.

Hm.... is it possible to alter the buttons? What I mean is, say we replace "Edit Post" with "Reply to Quote," or "What's New" with "Calendar?" Leaving them looking the same, we could alter their actual functions for the day, leaving only a few the same. Of course, we couldn't infract for the day, but it could cause a bit of fun mayhem.

What if you did two things? One a little bit more obvious to throw people off and one very subtle change that's not directly noticeable but will still be annoying as hell. For example, the subtle change could be that a button could link to the frontpage instead of actually working, which will be annoying but still pretty funny since it'll probably take a while for people to notice depending on the button.

Another thing could be to censor certain words, or if it works, make it so that when you type something in it turns into something else. Like if a commonly used phrase like "that" turned into "this" every time you typed it in. It wouldn't be noticed immediately but it'd fuck with sentences a lot.

What if we made a few random users "pseudo" mods? I think it would be hilarious watching them spazz at the name color changes.

Just had an idea. What if we announced that SP will be closing down and merging with Hyun's Dojo? We could try to come up with a fairly plausible explanation for it, like how traffic from the Philippines and neighboring areas has been steadily increasing while traffic from the US is less than half of what it was 2 years ago, so Stickpage will regionalize its content to become a primarily Filipino website while the English content and forum will be merged with Hyun's Dojo.

Or something like that. If it was announced by CJ himself in the next couple of days and we made the merge date something further out, like early June or something, I bet most people will fall for it until we make the big reveal on April 1st.

I don't think that'd be possible, unfortunately, because we're viewed as "competition" by the Dojo. I'd proposed the idea of a fake "Mod Collab Battle" between us and the mods at the Dojo, and it was rejected for that reason.

Actually now that I think about it that whole thing goes against the idea of not pissing people off lol. Still sounds doable though, if we're willing to cause some commotion.

What if for April Fools Jeff posted a thing saying, "Ahem... I was just doing sweet admin things, and in the process I accidentally *cough* made it so that users could edit each other's posts instead of just their own. Whatever you do, do not abuse this ;)" and let silliness take it's course for the day?

It would probably be chaos, but it would also be relatively harmless. Especially if there's an easy way to reset the forum to how it was before April 1st to undo any editing shenanigans? I've got a couple more ideas too, but this one seems the simplest

That sounds amazingly chaotic and I am not opposed to the idea

Devour just gave the greatest idea for an April Fool's Prank: Mod Turf Wars. We should all have a falling out about things, then make posts and try to get members to rally behind us to get each other de-modded.

Yeah, it sounds like there's some good potential to the idea. But how would it actually get pulled off? Forums are a tough place to conduct warfare :p

That's where a bit of an issue comes in, but we at least have a starting point we can work with.

Yeah I'm not entirely sure how that would work
