The thing is, we don't know. There's a probability it will help him but then again, there's also the probability that it won't.

Isn't it better that we let someone cross with 100%, or at least high, assurance that he won't die even if he falls? That's why ErrorBlender is fit for this job because the rope is a safety net just in case he falls. That is, given the rope can hold his own weight.

Assurance over chances.

Think about it, the chance percentage in your choice is inconsistent from 0% to 100% while the rope has a consistent chance of saving ErrorBlender if he may fall. The thing is, the rope is a much more viable option as it gives you a practical solution to the problem while what you're proposing is merely based on luck. Luck is part of the game but we certainly don't need to rely on it in this situation.

Also, we can test the strength of the rope, decreasing the probability it will snap.

Basically what Yalazer's saying is, "Sending Devour is a bad idea, his coin doesn't help him at all, but that might be Jutsu's plan so that makes it a good idea." :p

More food for thought: If Errorblender falls, whoever's holding onto the rope will be pulled down with him. How about we tie Error's rope to one of the door handles and send Shippage? His sword can fight the cobras, and its extended length and weight means he can use it to help himself balance as he crosses.
