His metaphor of trying to fly to China but never being able to catch up to it if the Earth was revolving the opposite direction, for example. If he's ever been on any sort of transportation, he'd see that he moves with it. It seems impossible that something so simple couldn't occur to someone. I feel like I'm being dumb by explaining it :p
