I'm one of the people that appreciates music for what it is. I don't get caught up in the drama queen bullshit surrounding various artists.

Listening to Dum Dee Dum by Keys N Krates right now.

I thought this would be a good place to post this...

I just found DragonForce, a superb band. Where can I find more music similar to this?

Muse's new album isn't out yet but it was leaked two days ago and I've had it on loop all morning, I had to share this track with you guys.

Muse - The Globalist

Some background: "According to Matt Bellamy, ‘Drones’ is a conceptual album which explores the journey of a human, from his abandonment and loss of hope, to his indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, and eventually defection from his oppressors."

There are two tracks on the album immediately before The Globalist called "Revolt" and "Aftermath" and they serve as the good ending of the protagonist's story.

The Globalist is the bad ending, where he rises up as a dictator himself and destroys the earth through global thermonuclear war in the process. The song builds to the middle heavy section which is supposed to represent the destruction of earth, and afterwards he's left as the last one standing, lamenting at the destruction he's caused.

It's best in context as ending of the rest of the album, but on it's own it's still an absolutely fucking awesome song, give it a listen.

This sounds like an old school album, back when entire albums almost told a story of their own.

It is, they're even talking about turning it into a musical. There's a section of 4 or 5 songs that all transition into each other and it's very well done, far and above anything else in their previous two albums.

I went ahead and uploaded the album closer Drones as well, it's essentially the outro for The Globalist and it doesn't sound complete without it. It's an acapella and it's supposed to be a lamentation from the ghosts of those killed during the preceding track.

Very unusual way of ending an album but I think it's beautiful.
