Also there is good and bad (if saying that is even possible) music in every genre. I could easily name metal bands i don't like but one could also name artists of every genre you like listening to. Does it make the genre bad? No.

Just because you don't like a genre it doesn't mean it's bad and the same goes for my opinion of course.

And no my dad din't listen to any music like the one i listen to.

I was mostly speaking of the metal from the 80s/70s. I'm quite the fan of drone metal, but I wouldn't categorize it with "metal" as much as I'd categorize it with "drone."
