OOC: Wait Jy has a gun?
Apr 20, 2015 12:55 AM #1350634
Quote from Captain CookAlright, I apologize for being kind of shitty with the situation I put you guys in, so here's your chance to get out of this.
I'm assuming that you guys went with Nish's text to take Mick to a restaurant for the trade, and that Adrian hasn't been tortured yet.
Dead Giveaway
Victoria felt sick. She could not hide her self-loathing as she watched the scene unfold from her position, FN FAL trembling in her grasp. Once-shining eyes were now threatened by tears, and there was no chance in hell she would let any of the others see her in this state, hidden for now in the darkness.
But still she spoke into the radio to Veeran and the others. "Shoot them both." The words sent waves of disgust through her. She hated it. Hated it so badly that fought the urge to just scream and scream at the helplessness of it all. But instead her voice stayed locked down under the grip of professionalism, of a girl who had dealt with these same feelings many times before. "One shot. Get them both through the torso. Use your second shot before they rush out to finish the man, and if Mick survives we'll deal with him then. Just," She turned off the Mic and turned away as she fought down another wave of emotion. Turning it back on when she realized something else. "Comrades, if we get out of this... Let me be the one to talk to Peter. Let me try to make him see that we can still work for him. I simply can't afford to lose this job, nor my reputation."
Letting the air out of her in one big whuff, trying to stabilize herself again, Victoria made sure to locate the others positions, ready to make her move the second that everything was set into motion.

After this event happens, I'm introducing a feature called Fast Response
This means you only have 20 words to explain what you do, and 10 words for dialogue, and whatever you post has to be able to be completed within 10 seconds.
Don't worry about it for this segment, just RP. Just keep this feature in mind for later on.

OOC: Here's why I messed up:
*When I got Mick to get out and do his own thing, I thought Cook would tell me whether the climbing was successful or not, and if not, I was gonna have him flee. Else, I thought he would just hang out on the roof. 1 intelligence really is bad.
*I gave him all those negative traits because I thought it would actually string well with the positive traits, just mega stealth basically.
*I thought what Devour thought, that we'd write the chapters themselves and control our characters, like going where and hiding here, and the more complicated actions are the autonomous part.
*This is my FIRST RP that had roll mechanics/DnD styled.
*I stupidly considered the traits and the stats to be just mechanics and instead of actual personalities and only based them on their descriptions. Hence why 1 intelligence.
IC: Mick couldn't think straight, though thinking straight for him was debatable at best, couldn't see either what with his eyes swollen with tears and closed. He tried to stay as close to the arm as possible. He was probably gonna get his brains blown out, since he probably grabbed the man's free hand instead of the hand holding the pistol. The fuckin piss didn't make it any better.

It's alright, man. I get it, everyone makes mistakes.
However, you might be able to survive this if you RP well enough. So just forget that shit and just RP man.

OOC: I'll wait for the others to respond. I can't have him do anything yet without getting killed.

This is a pretty sweet mechanic. I approve. Though at |east for me 90% of my RP posts are add-ons for entertainment. I cou|d get a |ot done with 20 words. (On my |aptop now, and my keyboard is busted. I think you can te|| which |etter doesn't work)

OOC: Fast response would be awesome if Cook is free to respond. However, it will greatly slow down the game if all we do is communicate in 20 words and then Cook doesn't post an update for 2 days. Also, I think something has gone wrong here, I don't think we ever even intended to bring Adrian out in the open? Veeran basically made up a restaurant and lied that it was Mick's favourite so that the bodyguards would go to Mick. I'm not sure which restaurant we're actually at, because none of them know it was Mick's favourite. (?)
IC:
Veeran sighed. How had things gotten this far? In the blink of an eye, they were at a restaurant, and Adrian was here, almost out of their reach again. If Peter fired them, so be it. Veeran swore an oath to put Markose in the Mayor's chair, and he would.
[PERCEPTION CHECK TO SEE IF MICK IS TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT ONLY ONE BODYGUARD KNOWING THE TRUTH]

I just wanted to expedite, you know? Just go with it. This'll be the last time I do something like this baby
I'd PM you the check but you pass it and you did it publicly anyways
But yes, Mick is telling the truth.
Apr 20, 2015 5:18 AM #1350758
He was telling the truth. Veeran saw it in his eyes. He spoke softly into the headset despite all the violent chaos that ensued. The cringe-worthy crying, the flail-like grappling. Suddenly Mick reminded him of one of the many, many children that Veeran had rescued from a life of crime, and his heart softened for a moment.
"He speaks no lies this time. Only the man that he is grappling with knows anything. Mr. Roth, when you hear a gunshot in a few seconds, fire off your smoke grenades and get the fuck out of there with Adrian in the chaos. Jy, start the car."
Peter might have fired them, but Peter wasn't Markose. Veeran had sworn an oath that he would make Markose sit on the mayor's chair or die trying. They needed Adrian alive and he'd be damned if he was to let some spineless pickpocket ruin their plans.
"We need Adrian alive. Peter might have given up on extracting information from him but we won't. We're taking Mick alive too."
It took all his focus, all his aim, all his concentration to narrow in on the bodyguard's forehead, despite Mick wrestling with him. It was now or never. He was going to blow the man's brain out and hope the smoke grenades provide them with enough cover to leave in one piece.
"Ladies and gentlemen, in case we don't make it out of this alive. I want you to know that it was a pleasure plotting with you. Some of you anyway."
Veeran pulled the trigger.

Roth seemed to have his composure set pretty well for the occasion, well, better than normal. The man seemed more focused than what was probably healthy for him. He wasn't the kind of man to get emotional over some hostage exchange or people dying. The fact of the matter is this kid fucked up hard and if he doesn't make it out of here alive it was his own damn fault. All Roth cared about was getting the fuck out of there and having a drink, but he was still on a mission. Veeran made it clear what he wanted. Roth waited until he felt like Veeran had his shot lined up, and proceeded to pull the pins off of two smoke grenades as he hurled them one after the other at the trucks. Whether Veeran hit his mark or not was irrelevant, Roth couldn't stay there with Adrian, and if Mick died oh well. "Mick if you're alive let's go!" Roth began to limp rapidly with Adrian still subdued. Hopefully both grenades would've filled the area with dense smoke before the thugs had time to get out of their vans.
ooc: I feel like there really isn't much we can do at this point except wait for Cook to get back to us with how everything unfolds.

OOC: Why Jy? Wouldn't CT be a better candidate because he's the "driver" of the group?
Apr 20, 2015 6:24 AM #1350770
OOC: Guys this isn't meant to be a specific instruction. Jy has pretty much been Veeran's go-to guy when he needs to bark out orders in the middle of a tense situation. It isn't literally "Jy, push Calvin out of the driver's seat and make sure you use your own bare hands to start the car". It is more along the lines of "Jy this is getting really tense and I can't think of anything else, so make sure the car is ready to go cause once I take the shot, we need to get the hell out of here." I also wanted to give you something to do, in case you want an interaction with Calvin or something since we're often leaving you out because your timezone.

Mick cleared his eyes a bit, though the tears were still flowing, it was easier to see. He ducked when he saw the rifle's gleam, releasing the man. Mick ran through the thick smoke in a flank toward the entrance of the restaurant to avoid getting hit by Roth or the other side's gunfire, while keeping his head down, legs still shaky, and the fuckin piss still not making it easy for him.
Apr 20, 2015 6:37 AM #1350775
Jy knew it was going to get hectic and they didn't need his limp to slow them down so he nodded and signalled to CT to join him as he began crawling away. He couldn't risk standing up and being seen, or even worse, to stumble into something and ruin the plan. Not until he was in the kitchen and well out of the sight of the windows did he stand up to limp out the back door. The alleyway was only illuminated faintly by the glow of the refinery. He unlocked the car and got into the back, handing the key off to Calvin as he sat down and buckled up.
