Hey, ZwnDYL here, and today 4/16/2015, I have had a question that keeps popping in my head. What is a general good time to start trees in classic.

I would like some decent advice from reliable sources, to help me and other possible elemental players out there.

Vs order 1:30 or 2 minute mark for first tree
2:30 for second then upgrade scorps and a fire or hustle and fire then upgrades
Always place tree ahead of second row but within castle air if doing my version of ele turtle.
3 trees 3 mins. At this point, look at what your opponent has. If simply sword archer meric spam, push with your army at his archers early on to keep the numbers down.
2 scorp pegs on and archer and switch targets to another archer is an effective way to keep the opponent at bay as you go into 2 cycloids to deal with his archers making sure to research tornado before queing cycloid. At this point capture tower using your fires/water/cycoids for ts1 support. If opponent turtles and begins making higher tier units grab v ups and passives and use the possess to grab any units of benefit.
This ranges from merics, shadows, magikills, and spears if there is none of the prior.
V possess sniping is rather simple too. Grabbing a nontank unit like the meric allows for you to be in use it as a tank as your opponent will be likely to archer spam and the arrows will quickly make it disappear. The same goes for shadows as you can outrun them by simply moving away. Teasing a shadow out and waiting for it to shinobi, teleport into possess as it attempts to flee, voila shadow tank and possible shinobi snipe. Using wave tactics. Never rush in like a dumbass. Ts2 if your opponent is miraculously still there. Whenever stealing magikills cast elec wall below the bulk of his support and quickly let it go as the elec wall was registered as your spell and will damage him still. Stealing a unit as it casts changes it to your spell as soon as it becomes possessed.

I don't use trees now, but I still have some advice.

Buy trees at the time pumu suggested. Get upgrades as early as you can too, scorps without upgrades are useless. Keep a good supply of mana, as I said you want to buy upgrades early, and now scorps cost mana. Don't get too many trees, they cost a ton of pop and you want to keep a lot of room for other spellcasters like infernos or V. About 3 would be optimal. Don't keep your trees holed up in your base, be mobile but cautiously. If you get caught off guard you're toast.

Last thing, this is very important. DON'T tech switch to charrogs. Tech switching is about the worst mistake you can ever make. Maybe buy one charrog to lead the scorps, but do not tech switch to charrogs. I hope this helps, keep practicing!
