Should we turn this into a DotA 2 Discussion thread or is the population still too small?

Same principles, better graphics. Begin playing immediately. I'm assuming you're smart enough to read a few guides and watch a few games on Youtube before you jump right in. Doom is a good choice.

Lol, Doom is a good choice
Just one of the heroes with one of the most powerful single-target ultimate in the game

I'm not sure if you're agreeing with me or mocking me.

When starting I'd suggest Zeus or Sniper. I find them one of the easiest to get the gist of.

They're noob heroes. Veir has already said he played Dota 1 and I think he should shoot for the stars when he starts out. He already knows the basic concepts, farming, denying, ganking, pushing, rune control etc. So let him just play Doom, watch the guides, get his ass kicked, get better and actually start doing Doom justice.

Agreeing
I too played Dota 2 and I remember almost every hero in that game
Even though I was at the beginnings and I learned most things about heroes by watching videos and reading wikis/guides

Yeah, thats the best way to learn combined with actually playing and getting beat. Dota 2 is one of those games where you cannot be the weak link of the team, it forces you to lose very quickly. Thats why Dota 2 players are such assholes to each other, because one bad player can cost your entire team the whole game.

Actually, I won most of my matches because I had a lot of experience with League
Which usually went in this way

-Get Lich
-Go bot/top
-Farm/Support your companion
-Get sent for no reason to fuck yourself in russian
-Get Aghanim
-Get Refresher
-Get Intelligence
-Play pinball with enemy's heroes
-Win

I'm a pro dota 1 player but I'm just mediocre-noob when it comes to dota 2. I guess there's this part of me that's just so used to the stuff in dota 1 that I tend to forget about them in dota 2. An example would be items, I just sometimes to use my active items from time to time with dota 2 and I don't know why. Although the past few weeks I've been getting more and more used to dota 2 and it's changes. Still surprised whenever I see some heroes have changes in their skills and are upgradable with aghanims, I feel like I've had the wrong purchasing order.

Back on topic, I like the change to Invoker and Lifestealer, using aghanims on lifestealer would be pretty fun. You're just gonna be like "I'm all alone" and then a wild Ursa comes out and says "Surprise MOTHER F*CKA!". But I feel like Meepo's too weakened, I mean just one of them dies and all of them dies.
Also am curious to try out aghanims(almost everyone can use aghanims these days, damn) on morphling. It seems pretty OP if you copy a hero that's complemented with your stats.

Not bad for a first match, so, did you win?

Hm. I played a match as Bristleback yesterday. Octarine Core is not worth rushing. You're better off going Vanguard - Heart - Vladimir's (?) - Radiance/Shiva's

Veir, you really are Nish Jr, aren't you? Jesus. Doom with the scepter makes me proud.
