Filipinos are required to learn martial arts as part of being a citizen, the fuck?
Mar 26, 2015 2:39 PM #1335456
No, its basic military training during highschool.
Mar 26, 2015 2:40 PM #1335458
To what extent? Is it required or it is JROTC type stuff?
Mar 26, 2015 2:42 PM #1335462
Just commands like marching, rifle handling, sword handling, other commands like salute and such. Its required in some schools while the rest are volunteering.

Took the words right out of my mouth.
I'm surprised not all of you know about this, especially some Filipinos here.

Since it isn't required in most of our schools I'm not that surprised.

Well I'm not Filipino so I'd have absolutely no way of knowing. I live on the other side of the world. Don't see why it'd be expected for everyone to know.
Mar 26, 2015 2:48 PM #1335476
What do you have against filipinos? And why are you only voicing them now? It feels like a forced plot device.
Mar 26, 2015 2:50 PM #1335479
Again, I have nothing against Filipinos.
Quote from DamianI don't have anything against Filipinos rather, I am annoyed by that large group of Filipino preteens that has formed this kind of "Pinoy Pride subculture" that has a nationalistic/racial superiority aftertaste. I wasn't seriously trying to imply that anyone born in the Phillipines is a dickhead because, the very idea of that sounds stupid.
Mar 26, 2015 2:54 PM #1335486
Ah. That I can agree on.
Filipinos have this nationalistic bullshit that they feel should be made-known to virtually everyone across the globe just because they're Filipinos.
And there's nothing wrong with that...except they're not really living in their own country... And even to those that live here...just admit it, you'd rather live elsewhere wouldn't you? If you could afford it. If you could.
So where's the nationalism in that.

Most of what you said is true. Sure. I don't even know why this sparked this conversation all of a sudden when Fordz just said he was surprised to hear that Damian hadn't known it.
Mar 26, 2015 3:01 PM #1335496
I've never met a filipino like that, wtf?
Mar 26, 2015 3:02 PM #1335499
Man, now I just feel like there should be a Filipino Criticism thread. YOu know, just to not bother the Picture Thread
would that be racist?
would that be racist?
