The question is pretty straight forward ... do you think these websites will be left? Will the stick figure lovers disappear?

Most likely not for a while (Maybe 5-10 years maybe longer) but yeah it will eventually die from funding issues or inactivity or some shet... TBH I kind of just want that RHG website on that one april fools joke a few years ago. That might help funding/members.

Of course they will eventually die. Websites will come and go, as we've already seen with Shiftlimits and Hyun's Dojo. I believe, though, that stick animation in some form will last as long as visual art itself, considering how widespread and easy the drawing of it is. It is interesting to think about, though, what people like Resh (who has said he wants to go into a non-artistic career) will think about their time here when they are in their 50s. So far we don't have anyone like that, since stick animation is relatively new.

Wow fast reply and I agree. Also most of the stickpage is now just RHGs, it would really be awesome to have a site just for that kinda like fluidanims.

As long as people still put significant amount of interest in stick figures, do some kind of donation, and hold competitions - with payments in several cases (this is more appointed for staffs or those who have money and feel interested and also committed to do one) I think they will still exist in indefinite time ahead.

But some beginning always come to an end later on, which is the rule of nature. Like FA and Shiftlimits, indeed. So it's a 'yes' from me.

Hell Fluidanims isn't even dead.

Have anyone. ANYONE. Link a single archive.org url and watch the thread moan and groan like a zombie.

The thing is that StickPage hasn't had a competition with prizes for a looong time.

What? I was under the impression there were multiple contests.

It doesnt even matter if there are no contests in SP. They're not in a threat to die because they already have a stable/alternate revenue stream.

Whereas.

If the Dojo wants to keep afloat, they will need to mix it up to pay the bills.

I'm not saying which is better, just measuring their survivability.

More like we haven't had an "original competition" for a long time
Since it has been all about BSE/Tributes ones

(EDIT)
Forgot about the revamped ones
and not, they're not original anymore -.-

The dojo really does have a serious revenue problem. I'm sure it'll resolve itself in the future, but it's the site most at risk of failing as of right now. Stickpage on the other hand will probably be around as long as it's still making CJ more money than he spends on it. And if you look up how much the site actually makes a year, that's probably going to be a long time

No dude ... depends on what the competition will be. As I would love a new original one but on the other hand I would die for a tournament.
