As far as the topic goes, the difference between this site and other animation forums is that this site has a LOT of people that aren't animators or artists, and are simply here for the community. I think it will last awhile.

It won't make a difference. Most of the active members will find out and just transition to the next site again, and it'll be nearly the same community. SP is just FA with some oldfags from SP. Dojo is FA and SP people as well, but it's not "stick" page, stick animation isn't the focus. The worst that could happen is losing the portal completely, but that probably won't since like most of the good stuff is on youtube anyways or on the animator's personal page.

Actually an overwhelming majority of people that were on FA are not on SP, or even part of the community anymore...like 90-95%.

Well in that almost what? 2 year gap between the merge and HD popping up as some sort of alternative there wasn't a portal and it felt like 0 content was being produced.
For the first few months to a year irc was fucking booming with like 72 peeps on average a day, so there was a shit-ton of fileize link sharing (this was when #fluidanims was still up and a little bit after it closed iirc) so people were hanging on there and not really getting on the main site. By the time a viable portal actually showed up with some form of consistent watchable content most of the people from FA (and I think some from SP actually) had just dropped stickanims all together. From blunt and Blizz ~to~ Uppercut and Wraz they're all gone lmao. Most of them likely picked up new hobbies.

Uppercut still animates I think? He's got a youtube channel with cool stuff on it.
