A sociological experiment was conducted in Illinois called the "Wallet Test". You can read about it at
http://www.wallettest.com/
The researchers deliberately dropped 100 identical wallets (containing money and ID) in public places to test honesty.
The test results were broken down by age, gender and race ---->

What I'd like to know is why did men steal over twice as much as women?

View Profile Probably because the guys have to pay for twice as much stuff then the women (i.e. the women using the mens money) [/sexist] Probably because there might of been more men then women, who knows, you would need to do this test of 1000 and it would probably balance out a lot more.

View Profile Men are generally more greedy than woman, and women are generally more honest. This test pretty much proves it. But they shouldve done more wallets for better results. 100 isnt enough.

View Profile Women are more honest, but they are also more emotional. A guy may cheat on his girlfriend because he wants a fix, but a girl does it to make her boyfriend jealous.
I don't see how this is exactly a debate.

View Profile I've seen this, and I thought it was pretty clever. I guess depends where they do it though too, it can only be assumed that people in Illinois are like that. They should try it somewhere like London or Berlin or Tokio or something.

View Profile It's spelled "Tokyo", dumbass.
And it is only 2 syllables, so you're probably pronouncing it wrong, too.

View Profile Those results seem reasonable, but with only 100 people tested there is probably a large margin of error. Take note that this also has to do with region.
For the sake of scientific method I have to doubt the findings until they can be proven more accurate. For example, it shows black people as being more dishonest, but only 23 black people were tested.

View Profile Meh, they need an even number of people, different locations and more wallets.
Unfair test.
Lets leave it at that.

View Profile Because it's men's jobs to provide, look out for themselves, etc. And women see it as "OH NO THAT PERSON MIGHT BE RUNNING TO THE GROCERY STORE AND NOT BE ABLE TO FEED HIS ADOPTED FAMILY!"

View Profile Hell id take the money, unless it was some ridiculous amount. Then id give the wallet to the mall cops or whatever. I wouldn't touch a bank card or id though.
