I don't know how popular this could get but whatever. I'm bored.
Most Awesome Fictional Character Tournament
Nomination Proceedings (Click to Show)
Welcome to the MAFCT. Have you ever wondered if Kingdom Hearts Sora can beat Darth Vader? Whattabout if the Genie from Aladdin takes on The Lich King? Jeff the Killer vs Freddy Fazbear? How bout the most popular LoL champion going up against the most popular DotA champion?
Every once in awhile, someone makes a thread about "X vs Y. Discuss." and the thread usually either dies out quickly because the OP got lazy or it's flooded by so much tl;dr fanwanking that the "for fun" part of the thread dissipates and the original message is lost.
So, this tournament will hopefully whet a few appetites and give an opportunity for people to put their own picks into the mix. It's a simple voting thread, really. With all your favorite characters across all forms of media and the Internet.
To begin, we will need some noms. Here are the instructions:
How to Nominate:
1) Every User will have 10 Nomination Points to use as they see fit.
2) The pts can be used 2 ways:
3) You do not need to Nominate all at once. Maybe you'd like to wait for someone to nom something good so you can Seed him instead.
4) You can change your Nominations any time within the Nomination Period.
Nom Form:
Character (What Universe) - Pts if applicable.
*The latter 2 are optional
Sample Post:
*Note how the Sample uses all 10 Nom Points
Luke Skywalker (Star Wars) - 3 <-- He chose to nom him 4 times, increasing his Seed in the Tournament.
Shaco (LoL) - 3
Popeye the Sailor <-- Since the guy stars in his own show, there's no need to mention where he's from.
Venom (Guilty Gear) - 2
Venom (Spider-Man) <-- As you can see, naming the universe is important for some.
Assumptions in this Tournament:
1) Rounds are fought 'fairly'. It means however you want it to mean. To me it means it's on a bland setting, without environmental advantages, and with no chance of summoning allies unless that's the character's gimmick or power.
2) Both characters know they are fighting but will not know who they are facing against until the Round occurs.
3) Both characters are in the mood to win and will be aiming towards that and nothing more. Despite that, you should still take their personalities into consideration.
4) Both characters will be fighting in their strongest consistent state. No temporary power-ups. So if you nominate Goku, he will not or cannot be in his Super-Saiyan Form unless it's as a finishing move or something brief. Ben Tennyson however is fine if you take into consideration his watch recharging and his forms dissipating after a few minutes.
5) All fights are fought to the death. If personality or something else restricts that character from doing so, it's until one of them is disabled or cannot continue battling.
Rules on Nominations:
1) NO JOKE CHARACTERS. I'm talking about characters who are utterly useless in a fight. Don't nominate R2D2 or Metapod unless you can justify it. Don't waste time justifying if it's just going to be a joke. Lethal Joke Characters are allowed though. If you can find any.
2) NO OP CHARACTERS. Now hold up, I'm not talking about people like Yuki Nagato (Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) who at least has a personality and a little reluctance to her usage. I'm talkin about people who would stomp the competition no matter what and have a 95% approval rating across the board. I'm sure watching Galactus or Darkseid pwn this tournament would be fun, but it wouldn't be very sporting now, would it? If you think a character is not OP, justify it to me. But the point of this tourney is to toss your favorites and see what blends. Not to see who's the strongest ever.
3) INTERNET MEMES ALLOWED. If you think the Most Interesting Man in the World has a chance then go ahead and nom him. If you nominate Chuck Norris, you're nominating his Meme, not him as a person.
4) NOMINATE THE CHARACTER, NOT THE ACTOR. Wrestlemania Undertaker is okay because it's the persona of an unbeatable champion with supernatural ability. The Angry Video Game Nerd is okay for his ability to shit tons, his access to lazors and other Nintendo gear, and his endurance. But you can't nominate James Rolfe, the actor playing as the AVGN.
5) TAKE POPULARITY INTO CONSIDERATION. Not saying that unknown fandoms are not allowed. Just consider that not everyone knows Ark from Terranigma or the Time Devourer from Chrono Cross or Kurei from Flame of Recca that they would even be considered voting for.
If you have questions, just post em here. No deadline or acceptable limit for now, we'll see how this goes.

- a) Nominate a Character by expending 1 pt. or
- b) Re-nominate a Character and increase his Seed up to a maximum of 3 times, which will then affect how they will place in the initial brackets.
The higher a person's Seed is, the less likely they will face people with similar or no Seeds.
