Guts: mainly for his insane survivability. Vincent is impressive, but Guts is simply on another level.
Saito Hajime: He seems to have good pain resistance and combat skill.
Segata Sanshiro: He's one of those Chuck Noris style characters so there isn't much which can beat him.
For the last one I'm not sure.

Guts - Haven't watched Berserk but this one seems to be winning so whatevs.
Vincent
Walter
Saito - Saito can probably smell anything that Walter throws from a mile away. This is a one-on-one battle, and Walter's method is manipulating others to get what he wants, so I doubt he has a chance against a battle hardened Samurai like Saito. Saito isn't just some guy who swings his sword, he's also quick witted and ruthless, not hesitating because of emotion. He's also a detective, so I'm willing to be that he's no stranger to people like Walter. I mean, let's say Walter has a certain deadly chemical that he always uses in his pocket and a car with a deadly machine outside the room, there's still no way he can get anywhere close to Saito without getting the middle of his eyebrows pierced. Saito also has experience dealing with the deadly machine outside the room, so not only will his lightni-
I don't know why I'm trying to justify THIS choice. It's fucking obvious, man.
Segata - Has powers.
Jack
Numbuh One
Jason - Numbuh One depends on his team, so without the strength in numbers I doubt he can take out a serial killer on his own.

except it goes against the fact that they're supposed to be in their most consistently strong state. I'm not familiar with the character but the explanation makes it sound like the armor is a temporary state that he doesn't use often.
unless it's not, in which case disregard it all
also about these votes for Walt because he's a genius chemist, he doesn't have a constant supply of chemicals on hand and even if he did, he's just a chemist, he doesn't know how to weaponize them in combat. with the possible exception of fulminated mercury which would act like a flash bang grenade, not exactly a deal breaker in this contest.
that said, I'm assuming he'd have a concealed gun and his impressive draw speed. do guns even exist on Saito's timeline? I know literally nothing about that character or the show he's from so I'm genuinely curious how he'd handle a firearm.

They had rifles, and gatling guns were apparently still new at the time. It wouldn't be surprising if Saito can evade Walter's gunshot or even use his sword to deflect the bullet, but I don't recall a time that he fought against an opponent that uses a gun. He was a high ranking official that used a sword to fight a war that involves guns, his rival Kenshin successfully defended against a gatling gun and Kenshin's skill at the time he did it was supposed to be inferior to Saito's, and he's one of the prominent fighters in the show and there's an unspoken understanding that every prominent fighter in the series have superhuman strength, reflexes and speed, so I think Saito can easily handle a surprise gunshot attack. But then again, I really don't recall a time when Kaito actually fought someone who uses firearm so this is all speculation. I also don't know whether small modern firearms shoot bullets faster than the old rifles from around the 1860's, so that might come as a factor.
I strongly believe that a trick like that can maybe inflict a small wound to Saito, but Saito's in an extraordinary universe with superpowers while Walter is in a much more realistic one, so there's just no way Saito can be beaten by Walter.

Guts
Vincent
Reason: With Guts' ability to crush around 100 opponents on the video, there's almost no doubt he can go hand-to hand to Vincent and beat him within seconds, perhaps. I mean just look how resistant he is on that video.
Walter
Saito
Reason: Kinda tough decision to me because both are as badass with different ways. But then Smile's good points got me to it, since this is a direct fight and such.
Segata
Jack
Reason: Seems like he can beat literally every living human for the sake of Sega Saturn in anyway possible...except zombies. XD
Numbuh One
Jason
Reason: Gotta go through the minority here. I think Numbuh One isn't really the one who tends to be with gangs all the time as it's mentioned he prefer to be workaholic one more than having holidays with the rest of the gangs. I think he can take down someone over his size alone. Plus, I'm not really sure if Jason can put up a fight there (since he only uses bombs to kill those cops from what I read there) while Numbuh One still can (didn't find neat scene on both links but only him doing gun shootings to cops and then died), so, there goes my two cents. I'll try to be up to discussions.
Well, I can only provide this video though since there's not much Numbuh One's badass stuff I can catch around YT. Not really satisfied, but eh. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZNzHAukzds
It's also mentioned that Numbuh One is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, even more than Numbuh Five (source).

Saito is from the Meiji era, japan. Guns existed but unless they were gatling, they were inefficient and swords were still the top weapon to have

Update Bump: Okay so it's occurred to me that there are 128 entries and that is a LONG ass time so I've resolved to posting 2 Blocks at a time instead of 1...but the next update will have 3 Blocks posted to compensate for the fact that there is only 1 right now.
Where are all the people who nominated in this thing? C'mon guys. Get out of the woodworks and put your votes to it. Exilement, Nish, wtf guys.
Anyways, I also just found out that we have 2 Laharls and I let them in. That wasn't a fluke and I know someone mentioned it, but I must've forgotten. The 2nd Laharl will be replaced by one of XaioShadow's late noms to compensate and that character is:
So yeah, he's in this now. Expect that to appear.
Finally, I noticed that Nicol Bolas got seeded by one point and I didn't reflect it. Don't worry, I did, I just didn't update the list in time.

well, once he acquires the armor he wears it pretty much consistently. when shit is serious enough he goes berserker mode, which sacrifices reason, the ability to sense pain, and the physical limitations of the body for absurd power and speed. completely entering this state is near suicidal as he becomes prone to self-destruction (and risky for his allies to be anywhere near) for the sake of more power, but he seems to have pretty good control over the armor and basically only gives it "as much as is needed". so, it consistently gives him increased strength, agility, and resistance to pain even outside of the berserk state.

Guts, really there was no chance. And afaik, he's going to top this for a long time. But that's why the highest seeds rock. Vincent made exemplary cannon fodder, which is kinda sad because he could've beat someone else in this thing (could he slay Magikarp?).
Yeah I don't know what the kids these days are thinking. Saito pwns Walter but not easily I might add. I'd take into consideration that Walter is armed and prepared. But there's a difference between being crazy-prepared and being crazy enough to think on the fly. Saito is also quite lithe so he'd probably learn how to evade shots after taking a few himself. I will agree that between the two, Walter is more of an asshole but Saito more than makes up for it with his razor sharp wit. He's like a samurai version of Kaiba and that really scares me.
Well I still don't like him, but this one is clear. Segata takes it. Jack would probably win if this was an interrogation battle and Segata was tied down to his chair, deprived of water and food for 36 hours. I know that seems like a disadvantageous handicap but that makes things really even.
When Smile originally nominated Jason, I was genuinely excited. I don't think he actually watched that episode of CSI but he should. It was brilliant and he was so badass. It was a joke nom, but I really loved this guy and not just because he gave alot of fans the oportunity to see Beiber get gunned down by the police. Nigel Uno might be a master of hand to hand but Jason is motherfucking teenager and those things are like the indomitable titans to the KND regardless of their ability. Moreso, Jason is a bomber, a disillusioned bomber who hides his habits well. And his bombs are really well-hidden and creative to boot. He could make SAW-like traps and fake SAW-like traps that essentially wasted police resources. All this reality appears to completely overwhelm anything the KND can ever face, even their top agent.
