The wRHG Regulation Force rose to power on February 2014, seemingly created as a response to the minor, but recurring problem of lawless acts, which were often committed by gladiators new to the Rock Hard system. Contrary to popular belief, the “w” in “wRHG” does not stand for “written”, but “world”. The general public often refers to them as “the wRHG regulators”, but in more recent cases, some have taken to calling them the “WRF enforcers” instead, or simply, “the WRF”.
The head of the organization was a young 24-year-old called Chancellor Webb. He used to make many public appearances for a period of six months after the organization was established, but in the August of that year he mysteriously dropped off the grid...leaving Annabelle Frost, a veteran street-fighter-turned-cop, as the leader of the WRF.
The WRF mainly functions as a police force for gladiators, but in recent years some of its members have grouped together in a separate unit to deal with general non-gladiatorial law enforcement practices as well.
There have been many rumors surrounding the reason for Webb’s disappearance. Just recently, an agent believed to be working for the somewhat shady Nehushtan organization dug up a powerful piece of intel. The intel came in form of a contract; the contractor’s signature written in a queer, swirling font. It was in bad shape, having been recovered from a building previously owned by Webb, which had mysteriously burned to the ground on February 2015. The exact day is confidential and is expected to stay that way for a long time. The exact cause of the fire is still unknown.
Although the upper right corner of the contract was heavily burned, the rest of the otherwise browned paper was smudged with black ink...completely obliterating what the contract contained. The smudges were intentional, and judging by the marks on the paper, the saboteur seemed to have wanted to smudge out the contractor’s signature as well, but the blotted name glowed like coals under black light.
The signature read: “Spyder”.
Ever since then, many contracts similar to the first have been recovered from multiple (undisclosed) locations worldwide. The contracts list various tasks, from law enforcement and containment, to monitoring, espionage, and assassination. The last three of the WRF’s specialties were only discovered in the last three months’ worth of recovered contracts. Since 2016, some crime scenes had the edge of a burned paper in the area, with nothing intelligible written on them aside from the “Spyder” signature. Secret unease has spread since then, since the WRF denies their participation in any of the final three specialties.
On the first of June 2016, a major discovery was made. An undamaged contract had been recovered from the cold case files of a long dead gladiator...whose name is expected to remain confidential indefinitely. For a while, the contract was hard to hold onto and passed through the hands of countless thieves and spies. Almost every known organization was after it, wanting to know the mystery behind the WRF.
To their immense disappointment, the contract had been written completely in a uniquely indecipherable code. In time, the contract resurfaced at an auction and was later stolen by a rookie gladiator wannabe. He was caught by the WRF forces and Frost herself made a public appearance to discuss the content of the contract.
All she released was that Webb was still alive and that the contract was just a capture-and-release task. At 11:49 PM on that very day...the contract was stolen again. Its contents were released on the internet, but then mysteriously vanished within two hours of its submission. Fortunately, an anonymous web surfer had recorded the information via typewriter before it disappeared. He claimed that he knew how the WRF worked, but was unwilling to share anything other than that. Interestingly, he was able to decipher the contract, even though he claims he has nothing to do with the WRF. The info is shown below:
“By signing this contract, you accept that you are now participating in a task of utmost importance. Your task must be kept secret from any and all individuals aside from yourself, and its results must be recorded on the internet and nowhere else.
You have been chosen to destroy all intel concerning the recently deceased gladiator, Vamprina, from any available sources. If any source is deemed as unavailable, I will make it available for you. Witnesses to the event of her death count as intel. Although none have been found so far, I trust an individual of your skills to ensure that not a single trace of this gladiator’s existence remains.
Remember: WWW.Del “A strong spider can overpower its targets, and a fast spider can catch them, but a smart spider never loses its prey.”
Work fast. Time is short.”
At the bottom of the page was both the contractor’s signature, “Spyder”, and the name of the individual who signed it. The person who signed used the name “Thomas Morshower”. This name has been determined to be an alias as no one in the system carries such a title. So far, Thomas is simply one of those ghosts that hide in plain sight without ever being discovered...until his death.
Since this discovery,
WWW.Del is now believed to be a term to describe the complete and utter destruction of all information associated with a defined target, and has been placed into the WRF’s specialties.
The WRF is also known for their frighteningly extensive (and somewhat intrusive) connection to the internet, as the single IP address they use for all their online communication, monitoring, and practices has been determined as completely untraceable. There is also a separate program called “M0N$T3R” that is linked to the IP.
It can travel independently anywhere on the web and can bypass all antivirus and incognito programs effortlessly. Tech wizards everywhere have been saying it acts like an adaptive, self-aware virus. All attempts to destroy it have failed miserably, but most turn a blind eye to its meandering. It hasn't harmed anything it's come in contact with and as long as you keep yourself off an internet connection, the M0N$T3R has no chance to enter your system. So far, it seems to be doing nothing but surveillance, but there are rumors of it having something to do with
WWW.Del.
Further studies have shown that this M0N$T3R leaves a type of digital key in every system it encounters. This key seems to allow it to switch between any and all devices it has passed through once before, regardless of distance. For example...if you lived in Canada and had a friend with a computer in Germany, the M0N$T3R would be able to switch between your systems easily. The digital keys cannot be traced, but they do have some of the AI awareness the M0N$T3R is programmed with.
