Why?

In our own writing universes, we may have an organization here and there, the "behind-the-scenes illuminati-like making experimental tech and experimenting on people" kind of organization. This thread is for them!

I have a problem with people making new, hidden organizations out of nowhere for their characters. You create so many hidden organizations, there are bound to be problems when things start to overlap. So my idea is, why not list a few organizations and people can use the same couple rather than have a lot of different ones? It'll improve the canon!

I don't want a ton of organizations here, especially any that overlap significantly (unless they're a rival organization.) I want a couple that, together, pretty much cover everything.

ion dedicated to protecting the normalcy of mankind, as well as protecting mankind itself, by securing, containing and protecting anomalous items and entities.

They own many bases and stations over the world and work unhindered yet supported by governments.

I believe the Foundation would be a good organization in wRHG because not only is it all about the written fiction, it's able to cover a very wide range of uses, from test subjects to agent task forces to intel gathering. If you have an agent that uses experimental tech, or a test subject escaped from an experiment, this would be a good organization to use.

They're always looking to capture and secure anomalous items and entities, and wRHG is full of them. See how they could fit in?
Organization name: Nexcorp
Organization purpose: To convert booming civilian populaces into gladiators and mercenaries for private contractors- thus turning civilizations against themselves for corporate gain. Traditionally, this feat is accomplished through the employment of cybernetics, though research is currently underway that may soon allow for the integration of magical or otherwise unworldly forces for sale to more privileged customers.
Organization specialties: Nexcorp can be considered an industry leader in cybernetics and artificial intelligence. More recently however, Nexcorp has involved itself in the research and dissection of magical creatures- with a particular focus on demons and other so-called monsters.

ation and R&D firm seemingly led by a slew of high-ranking investors with little to no accountability. The truth, however, is a sinister one. These... investors... are as much owned by Nexcorp as Nexcorp is owned by them following an under-the-table appointment of the Artificial Intelligence known as Mainframe to the function of acting President- the former Executive Officer being more than happy to take on the role of figurehead- while receiving the full pay. It could be said that the top spot in the company was secretly outsourced to a computer some time ago- though in this case the computer isn't so easy to fire.

Nexcorp's reach is global, with more bases propping up wherever business is booming. These include both manufacturing facilities and research labs- the latter of which also serving as containment facilities. A particularly significant 'lab' exists as an offshoot of the growing Toronto examination site where, we assume, the demons are.

I think Nexcorp is good for wRHG because, well, it has been since I started this gig. Every wRHG of mine since Fluidanims was created by, contributed to, or even served Nexcorp for a time. In my mind, they're the ultimate evil corporation- and over time they've developed a rich history that I'd love to share with you all. So if someone stole your wRHG's brother- blame Nexcorp. Someone turned your character into a violent killing machine- blame Nexcorp. Because they probably did it- and they probably got paid for it.

And of course... they stole wRHG's brother too. Sets the stage for collabs and such. Though that could go for any of the organizations on the list, I suppose.

young phenomenon. They have wiped any evidence of their existence clean off of every official archive possible, and they aim to maintain that. Its members are men and women either skilled in the ways of hacking, the ways of violence or those less ethically concerned scientists who seek to test their inventions on humans and see the direct effects, rather than testing them on rats. This unscrupulous way of experimenting has led to a massive body count, though has accelerated their research incredibly fast.

It is unsure why they have only been on a rise recently. Some say that they are a splinter group of The System, while others claim it to be the other way around. The more plausible theory, however, is that they have been held back by an unknown force, possibly another organization of the likes. It seems that whatever held them back before has now gone, and The Organization is on a huge rise as of recent, with a seemingly inexhaustible stream of funds.

Its members are divided into a set group of people. There is the hackers, the guards, the scientists, the apprentices and last but not least there is the agents. The hackers are men and women that were either formerly imprisoned, and given a second chance by The Organization in return for their skills, or are men and women that are simply paid handsomely to hack whatever they are instructed to hack without too much questions asked. Most of these, however, are unaware of the cause they serve, and believe The Organization to just be this loose group of hackers with an unspecified goal. Those superbly skilled, however, are either promoted to the highest levels if their loyalty is assured, or eliminated so that they may not pose a threat.

Since secrecy is key, and not everyone keeps their nose out of The Organization's business, they have founded The Guards. These are men and women (but mostly men) that are given a superb training, and are then either sent to eliminate The Organization's enemies, or those members whom it no longer deems loyal. As their numbers are not that great (there are only about an estimated 6000 Guards worldwide), The Organization compensates this weakness with superior equipment and training, making each Guard a force to be reckoned with.

The scientists are either men and women that were banned from their former fields of experimentation for their unscrupulous attitude or their disregard for individual life, or are those who are very skilled but unknown, which are then given a thorough brainwashing into helping The Organization. These men are then given ample test subjects, either former members that have fallen out of grace or unimportant people captured by The Guards or Agents. The scientists are then provided with whatever they require for their experimentation, in return for their services in the development of weaponry, serums and the likes for The Organization. The apprentices are those who show keen interest in the fields of the scientists, and are allowed to learn alongside them if they too lend their services to The Organization.

Lastly, there are The Agents. 24 extremely well trained men and women named after the old Greek alphabet. The origins of these agents are very vague, and known only to those running The Organization and the agents themselves (though even the latter leaves room for speculation). It is said that they are taken from their homes at a very young age and are then pitched against other prisoners of their age. Through rigorous training and constant torment they are shaped into killing machines with an unwavering devotion to The Organization, or so it is said. While the agents are usually loyal to the bone, for those who would have their own thoughts The Organization has instituted the Alpha, an agent specialized in the killing of the other agents.

Despite that, it is unknown who is in charge of The Organization. Some believe it is the leading figures in the world's superpowers, others say they are corporate leaders or billionaires looking to further solidify their grip on the world, and yet others say that those in charge are simply men and women that were formerly of no importance with an ambiguous goal in mind, and the means to achieve that goal. In the end, the identity of the leading figures is unknown, and the matter is still subject for speculation with many in The Organization.

Their interest in the RHG system comes naturally. The ample amount of fighters with special ability yields interest for further investigation, to possibly implant some of their own Guards or Agents with these powers. The many technologically superior weapons in the RHG are also a field of interest for The Organization. Gamma's arrival thus comes as no surprise.
I know this might still be a bit vague but I plan some development with Gamma story-wise that should give you a larger insight on how The Organization works.
(PS : For those wondering, yes, this is the same organization Wyvern used to be part of).

Nice.
Is it okay if my future wRHG character joins the "The SCP Foundation?"
(Embarrassing grammar question, if you say a word in quotation marks, but the sentence ends with that word and is a question, where do you put the question mark?)

I'm iffy about The Night Creatures. The name doesn't sound organization-y, but traffickiisn't something that's covered so far so it's good. And for M.A.C, it's not a main competitor for Nexcorp.

You forgot the parts where you explain why you think these will be good for wRHG. If you edit with that and possibly some further explanation of how M.A.C's interacted with Nexcorp I'll add them. Reason being is that you're doing two clans. One's justified with doing stuff that's not covered, and the other one seems to be getting in on SCP territory but if it's a rival to Nexcorp it'll get in.

To be fair, I wouldn't expect you to have heard of the name Night Creatures, but it was originally a clan on FA. As for M.A.C., it was originally made as an organization that an old wRHG of mine belonged to. Also wouldn't expect you to have known of Kasai. As for M.A.C. in general, SCP is designed to contain the phenomena present in the world. M.A.C. on the other hand is actively bringing forth such, and Nexcorp is, as mentioned in the description, studying and researching such things, meaning all three organizations would already be at each other's throats. Although, with the canon of M.A.C bringing forth such phenomena, I could always just ask the question: Are we cool yet?

But yes, I will edit in things.

Heh, I'd love to bring in all the SCP-related organizations like Are We Cool Yet and the Global Occult Coaliton but I'd imagine they'd come WITH the SCP. If you know about SCP, you know about them.

And alright, thanks for the editing. I'll add them in now. I hope people actually start to use these! And they're not just for wRHG use, they can be for OLit use too. Writings of all kinds.
