I'm pretty sure as teenagers and young adults on the Internet, we love our video games, until that one shit trick we see one too many times takes us out of the experience and pisses us all right off.
But someone's sugar is another's shit, and we get annoyed by different things.
So what are your top gaming gripes?
My top two are:
Drawn out attack sequences.
A weird one some people won't get behind, and a common one in RPG games. Some developers want to make a certain move special by making it a hefty cinematic sequence to use your latest move. And you know what? I hate this shit. I don't like a lot of RPG's for this reason. It just means I have to sit there patiently twiddling my thumbs for my melodramatic rag tag team to finally let their big move do shit, and then it's the enemies turn and he's not exempt from it, either. Sitting there and waiting for something to finish preparing to pull off doesn't add any sense of magnitude to it. It just drags things on longer than they need to be. This irks me to no end. Making slow combat even slower is not fun.
Obligatory Stealth Sections.
Yay.
Remember the last mission/level you just beat? How rewarding it was to use your wits and weapons to over come a mighty challenge? Well mister, put that shit back in its holster because you're suddenly as weak and vulnerable as a rat cut in half, so lets sneak around some. Stealth missions are the bane of my existence as a gamer. Typical stuff being crouching and smashing yourself against walls, every enemy guard taking your out instantly if one of them even fucking thinks someone's there, and your only attack is a death cuddle from behind. Sometimes standing in the search light simply releases some baddies to kill, or alerts them all to combat, and this isn't too bad. But the ones where they snipe you in one hit without being able to do shit about it.
So what are yours?

Artificial difficulty. Just doubling the enemy's HP and damage? Bugger off, would you.

Dhghghgh. Borderlands two. Don't know why I love the game so much.

Games that end with shitty quick time events. I won't spoil them but I've played two recent AAA titles with extremely fun combat mechanics and they both ended with an underwhelming cutscene with QTEs interspersed throughout, there's no satisfaction from it whatsoever.

I hate how a pawn can't be promoted to a king once it reaches the end of the chessboard.

Luck. Especially things like one-hit kills and critical hits(fuck you Pokemon). It really just sucks when you've come up with a perfect plan and suddenly, the enemy hits you with their one-hit kill move and all your hard effort goes to waste because of something you can't control. There are instances of luck I can forgive like with Mario Party because the whole game is based on luck, but things like accidentally killing a pokemon you wanna catch because you got a critical hit or missing your chance to finish your opponent off because your move only has 90% chance of hitting really suck. Luck should be kept out of the programming and in the players hand instead.

AIs that are too fucking op, I remember playing a game where there is this AI that just detects what you're gonna do next and how to avoid it, that shit just sucks.
And when they don't have a "Are you sure?" Option on RPG games when you're either selling or throwing away an item, I mean seriously, what if I misclicked? An Are you sure option is really appreciated.

Button mashing that somehow works?
I hate it when I perfectly mastered the 10 hit combos of characters and this one kid just picks a character with intentionally fast attack speed and just manages to beat me by mashing buttons.
Also the unskippable credits
Some games just want to roll the unskippable credits and when you force exit the 20 minute wait, you're back in the last mission again (God Eater). I find this utterly common in most single-player RPGs
Cheat codes
When you want to play fair and this random person pulls out cheat codes to get unlimited health. It's quite uncommon in this generation's games though, so I'm grateful.
When your character doesn't talk.
He has a mouth, and you customized his voice yourself, and yet he fucking NODS every time. Can't voice actors at least voice act simple and commonly used phrases/words like "Yes", "No", "Maybe", "Why not?"?
Cliched events.
When the plot's too predictable for you to even bother.

I don't play video games often, but when I do these are what I don't like:
Grinding
MX told me to play pokemon. I liked it at first, but then as I got more pokemon I just had to keep playing a lot of them so that I can have a chance at going to the next city or route or whatever. It gets brain damagingly repetitive and makes the game become a chore.
Pay-to-win
I don't think I have to explain this
Obnoxious Players
I just hate it when the players of the game are obnoxious. It's not the game's fault, but whatever. Dota players from high school are the worst. They insult each other because they didn't report or they didn't activate the ss at the perfect time or their creep block didn't work or fucking whatever. They once tried to teach me how to play, and they did this by letting me play against them and then they'll find satisfaction in crushing me for some reason. Then the team that got me would be like "hey you guys have Smile next", as if just dying over and over not knowing what to do is some form of learning. Sure maybe it is, but they didn't even tell me what's important or what's not or what to do or what not to do, they just tell me "buy this and this and that here" and then they'd feel pissed that I didn't know what I was doing. I never got into moba because I fucking hate what people turn into when they're playing those kinds of games.

I sometimes mash buttons because I can't do the motions...
Half circle? Wha?
I don't really like specific joystick motions because I cannot do them fast.

That is so true. I usually turn off almost all items in Smash Bros because of that.
