I got some gripes to get off of my chest, plus who doesn't love a good hate rant?
100% completion.
This is one of the worst things that plagues gaming in general. You know how you spent a good 4-8 hours clearing all the games main challenges and now how the final boss is now choking from sucking his thumb too hard after getting his arse kicked? That means congrats you beat the game, right? No, of course it doesn't, you haven't REALLY beaten the game yet.
I fucking hate this shit. 100% completion of a game means nothing besides wasting extra time for a lacklustre reward, or a shitty trophy or achievement you will never think of again. So for fuck sake, cut it out. This is essentially the game brainwashing you into jumping through hoops just so it can stop judging you for beating a game but not walking across every rendered polygon and "truly appreciating it". And on that topic, fuck collectables in general. If I don't have a use for a shiny object in a game, I don't want it, so fuck off. You may argue that it adds a sense of exploration in a game, but that's a load of bollocks. If your dev team spent 5 months making 7 maps, then give me a reason to go through all of it besides "but the next hidden useless medal might be hidden there." Unless the game itself is about exploring the areas for things to pick up, I'm not going to roam about picking up shiny junk for the games amusement.

Level Grinding: It’s designed to be a drag. To grind is to suffer. Farm the enemies, sell their useless drops, repeat (I’m looking at you AQWorlds). I just wanted to be level 65. Turns out I’d have to sink countless hours into grinding /eaglesreach and /honorhall with xp boosting items. Oh…and the REP grinding is the worst. Tiny little rep for completing a task that takes you at least an hour or more to complete at a certain level (e.g. level 30, blaze binder class, versus quest that makes you kill 100 enemies and gives you very little rep in return). It’s like the game NEEDS you to be a high level in order to complete the quest faster.
Oh…and even if you do get interesting drops (e.g. 1% drop rarity) it just doesn’t seem satisfying at all. The only thing that makes the weapon good are the enhancements, which you can buy with gold (the easiest currency to earn in the game). And then that brings me to the next point…
Membership Restrictions: I suppose in some games the bonuses are really worthwhile, but AQW it’s terrible. Memberships give you bonus items and allows you to visit secret areas and that means you can equip pets that you never could before and stuff. TERRIBLE. If the membership expires, you can’t do that stuff anymore and you have to PAY MORE MONEY to get the perks back. Seriously? I don’t get to equip my awesome dragon/sword/armor/animated face thingy whatever that I just got? There is no real benefit aside from the daily quests that give you more xp/gold/rep etc. than you normally would as a free player.
Unfriendly Players: I see it in almost every multiplayer game. There are veteran players talking down to rookies just because they don’t play very well. SERIOUSLY??? I mean, before you become a vet, you have to be a rookie first!
Unmuted Microphones: Some player has their mic on and their wife/girlfriend/baby/pet is causing a racket in the background. Or…even worse, that player is talking to some other player about the great hiding spot he just found on the map and then the enemy team is like ‘Oh really? So that’s where they are!’ and then they go and annihilate that person’s team.
Microtransactions: These are only justified if you can earn every item in the game by yourself. Some players just don’t want to do that level of grinding and have the choice to buy the stuff right away.
Skins: It might be really cool to prance around in some awesome-looking cosmetic, but if it doesn’t give you any in-game benefits, why wear it at all? I’m talking about the purchasable skins (I’m looking at you Dragons and Titans). They look cool. That’s it.
Sure, a skin might mean little more if you actually design it yourself, but otherwise…it’s all bragging rights and nothing else.
Solo versus Team: Sometimes there are those MOBA matches that just don’t work out. You spawn with your teammates, and then they do absolutely nothing and leave you to do all the work. This often ends in a loss. Yes…I’m criticizing Dragons and Titans again…
AFKers: Vainglory is all about teamwork. Three versus three sounds pretty even. However, given the skill sets of the characters, 3 versus 2 pretty much means complete and utter defeat. The most insensitive of players often play a little with the team, and then goes AFK at the 5-minute mark…never to return till the endgame. Or, if the AFK person does come back, chances are both allies and enemies are way higher in level than him/her. The enemy snowballs, and then the game is lost.
In some cases, the game can be saved, but only if you and your remaining ally synergize really well together, AND the enemy team is of low rank AND have bad item builds AND poor teamwork. But still…3 versus 2 is unfair.
AFKs usually hit the hardest when the enemy looks as though they’re going to win, and then one or both of your teammates abandon ship and leave you to deal with the threat (e.g. Kraken + Ace at the SAME time) by yourself.
Surrenders don’t count because you have to make that choice for yourself. Congratulations to the devs for making surrender possible if one teammate has gone AFK (and unaffected rank as a result of a match loss due to AFKers)!
Lag Spikes: Sometimes a game is running fine and then as soon as you and your team get to a clash point with enemies, you somehow jerk to the other side of the map or vibrate across an invisible wall without you even touching your mouse or keyboard. Maybe my connection’s to blame, but seriously…it’s no fun getting flak after the match for “abandoning” the team.
Poor Matchmaking: Call of Duty Black Ops III. It happens. It stinks. Enough said.
Ignorant Devs: Dragons and Titans…the devs do not listen to their players. The game is going down the tubes because they added this new control scheme to make it more MOBA-like, but now it just causes everyone to outmaneuver the turrets guarding objectives and renders anyone using the old control scheme useless.
Also, they put more effort into creating new dragons with new abilities instead of fixing bugs in the game. Plus they’ve put so many balance changes on weapons that I can’t keep track of the modifications anymore. The chat is full of veterans flaying rookies for their bad gameplay and poor strategy. After all this time…Arcfury + Sphere of Wudeng is still invincible.
I may have more, so stay tuned :D

"Cosmetics don't matter" c'mon if you aren't stylin' then why play at all? To win?
It's just as important to look good while kicking ass as it is to kick ass.
Otherwise how can you be sure your foes are demoralized... if you're sick apocalypse dragon laser samurai skin with custom taunts isn't equipped?
Speaking of gaming gripes. Not enough skins, sure you get a rush when someone else has the exact same skin you have when you're like "Awwww hell naw!" But it gets old after a while seeing repeat skins. What's the answer you ask? MORE VARIETY

Quote from ExxmorphingShitty hitboxes. Too often I find a convenient hole to shoot somebody though, only to find that the texture failed to map over the hitbox.
Blizzard made a hero specifically dedicated to this.
They call him Hanzo, grand master of shitty hit boxes.

Matchmaking in almost any game is stupid.
