Good luck SSB! You certainly hold a lot of promise, I wouldn't be surprised if you placed well. I've never gone to a tournament, I was considering Dreamhack Winter now that they've added SSBM but I probably don't have enough money :/

(also some pretty great players are going there so I'd probably not place well at all, haha)

Just came back from the tournament. I had a good run and I made it decently far, too. Got knocked out into the losers bracket in the 2nd round (fucking Luigi players, man). I powered my way through the losers bracket until another Mario player managed to beat me 2-0. It was a fun day and I had fun ^_^

Recording matches requires lugging a computer around equipped with a recording program like Virtualdub/OBS and compression codecs set to the right settings while also bringing at least a capture card ($60 for a decent one) if not an entire console. It's fine if you're a streamer or if you're providing set-ups, but if you're an attendee it's just an intrusion, unless you're a regular and the tournament organizer is okay with it.

You can make a crappy recording using a handcam, but that also requires you to ask other people to watch all of your matches, which is generally inconsiderate to ask, even to a friend.

I really wish sma4sh would come to Dreamhack, then I would actually go lol. I'm not going to any majours any time soon, since there really isn't many majours in the UK, and all of the majours that do happen are so far away from me :/
