In your original post, no, I can't. But I see your sig and the rest of the times you posted

Alright, these tips are just the way I draw weapons and stuff, if you feel it's useful, use them :)

The first thing I learned is that everything (EVERYTHING) looks better without the outline.
It looks more realistic. The outline gives a cartoon-ish feeling to things. If you're looking for that style, great, but for serious stuff you gotta take them out.

Here you can compare: a simple sword.

Image

Now, something I see in almost every newbie in flash is that they use gradients with waaay to much contrast.
Gradients must be used with subtlety. the difference between the two (or more) colours you choose, must be subtle.
Compare the two ways of using gradients: The contrasted way and the subtle way.

Image

Now DAT looks a lot better. If your object is black, use a gradient with a black and a very dark tone of gray. You get the point, right?

And lastly, don't be afraid from details. The details talks about the characteristic of an object. A sword is a sword, but a sword with some sheens looks like a brand new sword, a sharp sword. A sword with rust on it is obviusly an old sword.

Hope you can use these tips :o

If your making weapons, i really suggest on removing the stroke and just leave it all fill. It helps make it blend with the background.

This is how i make Red Ninja's Sword. Notice how there isn't any Bolds so that if used in battle, you won't think they're all that much of cartoon items.

Another this is finding just the right complexity of things. A good weapon is worked down to the smallest detail, because as with really any form of art, the more detailed you are the better it will be. However, you don't want to be overly complex. Intricate designs are fine, but it gets to the point where your unsure what you've made. I speak from experience XD

My last point is this: maybe it's just me, but I fucking hate using gradients. Anywhere on the weapon, I think it looks terrible and lazy. If you work out the details, you can get rid of gradient effects and still make it look 10x better.

That sounded very malice... uh.... I apologize

Yeah but think that it's useless to make too many details to a sword that most of time will be moving around too fast to see them. I only make details just to describe the nature of a certain thing (like I said about the rusty sword).
Also, yeah, gradients are optional. I just described how to use them so they won't look terrible and lazy

Also boltz carefull with those gradients. The way you used it on the blade gives the feeling that it's a cylindrical object, more like an ice pick or a knife sharpener than a sword.

anyways I got waaaay too much off topic sorry xD
Good luck with finding a new member!

Eh, I tried, I see what you mean about making details when they'll be moving so fast. However, keep in mind that they won't always do that. Are you forgetting close ups, and how the Camera will Zoom in on the weapon as the user activates its true power? That's your style and perspective though, what ever floats your boat may help you survive.

I prefer the old clan one, only problem is that the stick figures look poorly drawned, I could remake those poses but i don't have access to the thread.
