Hope I get to see a lot going to this. I'm planning on running an amateur bracket for anyone who doesn't make pools (provided there are enough players for pools). I'll throw in a small reward for the winner of that too. Make sure you share the news!

All starting in just over an hour!

it starts in ~40 minutes or so. You need to be in the IRC within the next 20 or so to be able to join in though.

Why was there so much more reward points for this one compared to the last one? If anything the bracket was less stacked.

It's scheduled as the main Asian benefit to the finals.
If somebody cannot make most of the tournaments, but they make this one and win, they can still go to the finals tourney ezpz.

Best case scenario for me is that I make the November one, and if I do come, I have to manage at least third place.

So it doesnt really make sense to increase these ones, but oh well.

It gives a sense of priority and importance to some tournaments. I too am disappointed about the attendance, but I can't help it.

I'll try getting some better advertisement out.

well-played in this tourney

but may I add couple suggestions to the rules to improve the quality of tourney?

1) anyone who AFK more than 10mins got DQ
2) anyone who played non ranked/ranked with others during tourney DQ
3) anyone who withdrew in the tourney after signed up will get warning points, an accumulation of warning points(eg 3 points max), will not be allowed to join in the future tourneys
4) During each set, two players must continue their next game within 2mins

I wasn't there, but you complaining about waiting 2-3 hours sounds like a huge load of shit. The tournaments I have been at take that long.

We've been enforcing the these rules pretty well, save the third is left unwritten. I'm not making a list, but it's easy to remember names should there be a repeat offender, and so far it's been fine.

What happened this tournament was something of a special case, and I will explain. DAZ was gone for more time than what should have been given to him. But I was still uncomfortable giving the boot for a couple reasons. First, he was one of only a few high level players to have showed this tournament, so it would have been disappointed to now see him play this match out. What really was eating me, was making sure my decision was fair and one from being the TO and not a player. I didn't want to do this just to give me an easier time through bracket. Being a TO and a player, I don't want to make decisions that could possibly be bias to making it easier for me to earn my own rewards. I think in hindsight, DAZ would have understood if I did have him DQ'd, but I was unsure if there would be mixed feelings to how that played out. It was an important match, one for a huge chunk of rewards. While I'm glad to see it did happen, I agree that it may not have been your time or my time. But that is why I hesitated. In the future, I think I will be less forgiving even to these kinds of players and circumstances. Just another lesson learned.

It was set up with this from the start, so to change the rules just because of a number of participants or saving time would not have been excusable.

EDIT: In other news, the PR and points tables have all been updated.

As on the day, I apologise for this, but this lasting more than 4 hours (We did it in 3 last time, 4 should be a "goal" to aim for) forced me into afking for 15 for dinner; it had run 5 hours before I had to go. Personally I find people who join a tourney then leave at the start way less excusable.
