Well, time to unsubscribe from this thread and leave it to die lol. Everything's already been said and seabeast isn't getting it. And probably never will, so I'm not wasting my energy

I believe that you guys are the ones that simply do not get it.
My point states that the corruption of Microsoft and their ill deeds are enough to judge that the corporation should not exist.
It's not just about Linux, it's the fact that Microsoft makes every chance to take money from people and forcing their sub par software onto the market.
The whole point of Linux is that the argument remains that it truly is absurd that a free open source software can actually be far superior than something that you have to pay for, which (I don't see how you can lack understanding of this) seems to be contrary to the ideals of a typical consumer, especially for computers.
Linux is not some super complicated OS that nobody on Earth would be able to learn.
If I am to use a real life example, I installed Linux for an old woman who knew absolutely nothing about computers a month ago. She didn't even know how to hook up a monitor. She was having numerous problems with her computer, like viruses, clogged registry, slow and unresponsive performance, etc. I told her I could fix her computer, and other tech guys couldn't do anything besides running malware bytes. I installed Linux on her old computer, and it ran faster with better performance. Guess what? She had no problem using it because it resembled windows. It was basically Windows without any problems involved with running Windows. She was the epitome of someone who knew nothing about computers and didn't care to learn, yet Linux worked just fine for her.
I mean, seriously Windows is just an extremely poor OS. Just because it's on every shelf (therefore most people who use computers are more familiar with Windows) doesn't mean it's all that great. It's this business stake Microsoft has that's the only reason they are even popular in general use, and gaming too.
It's not about being tech savvy, because there's nothing even technical about uninstalling Windows.
I understand where you guys are coming from. But you realize it's proven open source is more secure than closed source? White hat hackers and coders alike can spot security issues for free, and they do it all the time. While Windows still has the same security problems and exploits and flaws that it had since it's inception, due to the fact that every version of Windows is only modifications to the original program.
It is just insane how people are willing to pay for such crap when all it really is is common sense.
It shouldn't exist simply because it's garbage, and for the point that if Linux were most popular, it's true that viruses would be written to target it, but it still is difficult compared to simple worms that can disrupt windows, it takes substantial amounts of effort in comparison to writing viruses for windows.
Why don't you think of all the people who actually suffered through serious problems due to using Windows products?

"they're bad people so they shouldn't exist" is logic that has never applied to any corporation, ever.

SeaBeast you're purposely making this a Linux vs Windows debate again even though everyone else has already told you thats not the point here. I suspect you're doing it because you know already that your topic was a foolish misconception of your real point, and you're trying to save yourself from looking really stupid. But your condition is worsening.
a) This old lady. Tell me what is going to happen to her when she needs to use something that runs only on Windows and not on Linux. Where is this army of Linux tech support fanboys who are going to help hundreds of millions of lower-middle class households in India and China with it (the largest growing population of computer users)?
b) By your corporation is evil logic, I can argue that Microsoft has been the biggest reason for the kind of charitable funds and profile raised by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation which has contributed more money to povery eradication, disease control, organic food, human rights, sustainable environmental initiatives and others than any fucking Linux tycoon. Does Microsoft put its own money in? No. But without Microsoft, it wouldn't have happened on this scale. So I'm only using your own logic. Please tell me how a slightly more trouble-free OS is more important to the world than saving lives and the earth.
c) Nobody here 'lacks understanding' that Linux is free and perhaps better. You're the only who seems to lack understanding of the basic argument laid before you. Is Linux better? Yes? Then use it. But don't shove it down the throats of others. Its that fucking simple. If people WANT to use Windows, you still haven't told me why they shouldn't be allowed to. If I want to use a crappy car because it has sentimental value (or any value), it is my right as a fucking citizen of my country to do it. You have still not provided a single viable argument for why Linux should be forced into people's lives when they don't really give a shit about OS at all. You want to save money and time on Linux? Go ahead and do it. Tell me why people should be forced into it?
I mean, what fucking next, SeaBeast? Since natural fruit juice is better than Coke or Pepsi, do you want to ban Coke or Pepsi? Sure, it would be a healthier option for people, but thats what it is... an OPTION. People should have the freedom to use shitty products if they want. Thats the point laid out before you, which you haven't displayed an ability to grasp, simply repeating yourself.

Sea Beast, you got fucking trashed. Just admit it and move on. Microsoft is in no way a malicious company for creating a common software that is the most accessible and usable among all platforms, for the cheapest cost. You sound like a pseudo-intellectual who wanted to try to find a way to show "that you know A LOT about computers" yet couldn't find any real way besides this trainwreck of a thread. This thread should be urinated. Useless thread based off of useless, baseless assertions that doesn't have a real point, nor a coherent or logical conclusion. Microsoft shouldn't exist? More like this thread shouldn't exist.

Quote from ExternusMicrosoft shouldn't exist? More like this thread shouldn't exist.
This is essentially how I feel. This thread has not fulfilled the purpose of the debate section and the creator of this thread did not ask a proper question with the right amount of validated research to start a debate. At this point, continuing this debate would be beating a dead horse that shouldn't exist to begin with.
Sea Beast, please do proper research first.
I probably should have done this earlier, but this thread is locked. If anyone disagrees, please PM me or Exilement.
