I am against inter-connected stories altogether as it clashes with your other rule of "No Sheets".
If your rule is that we can't use character sheets to force character development/introduction on the first story, then users might do the work for R1, only to not do it in R2 because it's "episodic". And that will drastically reduce the quality of the work.

Totally agreed with what Hewitt said. It also takes away a lot of the short story creation process if people are continuing their previous stories instead of making new ones with each round. It will also have the same effect of confusing anyone who hasn't read a player's entire arc of episodes.
Also, is there an estimate of when this'll start?

Hmm. Now that you mention it, yes. Maybe I'll allow Chromium's way which he actually meant to be vantage point wise instead of episodic. Different characters but same setting.
November 1 is the start. I'll be trying to push 16 participants.

Chrome's way is acceptable, as long as he manages to flesh them out each time; which just makes me question why not just make each Short self-contained with their own characters in the first place. Whatever floats his boat I guess, but the plan to make a seemingly coherent timeline by stringing different AUs together as a means of attracting a crowd seems a little too meta to count as a legit tactic.

So character per story, there'll be other details besides the main genre. The character has to be described through the story. Am I missing anything?

Nothing. You got it. So are you in?

Apologies, count the one in the first post where Romance is R5.
No. Am still waiting on his. Among those who I PMed only those in bold replied:
Devour
Cook
Cruel
Aquila - Replied in the tournament itself.
Malacal
UPDATE:
I plan on playing this as a Round Robin type tournament. If anyone objects please say so. Its time consuming and some of us may not have that time.

Would it be less time-consuming if strict deadlines were attached to the rounds? Round Robin sounds great as eliminations do not come swiftly, and it makes for the lack of an even number for a clean trad tourney. A Short Story imo takes a week tops to write out.

It will be an incomplete Round Robin, I think. Spread through 8 rounds, some may not fight another but just most of the participants.

I'm joining (at the near begging request of GuardianTempest) but I'm not much of a writer so...don't expect too much
