So I recently came back to playing SE, but now all the strategies that normally doesn't work against me are ripping my ass apart again. -.-
After amassing a crapton of Spears, the opponent would quickly tech up to using Giants, as I can't do much about it, since my opponent would micro his units out of my electric walls whenever I cast one (same with explosion,) and the opponent would get merics to cure my poison.
Lastly to add insult to injury, they don't use archidons AT ALL.
The horrors of 1.5k-1.6k league ;-;
Anyone know how to prevent the enemy from teching into giant as well as rendering spear cheese useless?

In my experience, it's hard to stop a spear mass when it is built, but there are a couple of things you can do:
1. Turtle with a few mages, and shadowrath. The shadows can take care of merics, then several blasts, electric walls and a poison can stop the spears along with CA3. Just get 1-2 walls, and a spear in sheild mode with meric support. Then you can tech into giants if you must.
2. The above mentioned is not optimal, so it is better to stop the spears before they are built by constant pressuring with archers, TS, and (optional) shadows. Get shinobi II and kill of merics, miners and mages. You should be able to hold the tower now, so run in with TS and archers or position them just out of CA's reach to prevent a good economy. With three shadows and 2-3 merics you can send one at a time, and by the time you've used the last one the first shadowrath's shinobi cooldown will be done and it will be fully healed. Some don't like shadows because they are very expensive so you can do 2 rows of archers and TS + a couple of spears. Since they are using a lot of spears, which load in que only one at a time, try to just kill many miners as they shouldn't be able to get a lot of spears out yet.
Hope this helps

Tech to albows if they don't use ranged units, put em behind a giant, they do some mad damages. In that situation you just gotta play defense.

Why would you let someone build a spear mass?

Because a good turtle counters it.

I would rather have a 5 minute win than a 10-20 minute win lmao

That wouldn't really work out, they will get the spear mass set up and then all you have are archers who prick them with an arrow, not enough dps. More dps via good turtle.

Bust a wall out and invest into more archers and eco then going for an early spear.

How will they get it set up with constant harassment?
Ps. A few extra spears with shield/bash might help if you can't pull off full archers. Also don't forget fire arrows.

Lanicifir, myself and a few others don't have much issue with holding off archer mass. A lot depends on field length and game ping, though. Shortfield, spear massing is a viable strat, a spear/mer/mage build since the distance is so short and you can tech into it so quickly compared to into giants.

This is a strategy I use against players of Wyz's calibre. ;)
