THIS JUST IN! Stark Tower is on LOCK-DOWN!

A few weeks after the Avenger's glorious victory against the forces of Ultron, the team returns to find Agent Coulson and half of the Fantastic Four (as well as some extended family) waiting for them. Apparently, Reed Richards' nemesis The Skrull (shapeshifting aliens with a grudge) have once again invaded Earth and he has reason to believe that they've already replaced key members of the Avengers. Tony says that's ridiculous until---

"WARNING WARNING A FOREIGN BIOLOGICALS DETECTED. PROCEEDING TO---"

The penthouse explodes as shutters go down and sirens go off. Tony proceeds to shoot his own lair up, all the while explaining that the emergency failsafe has kicked in until ALL biological anomalies have been eliminated. And with Jarvis seemingly offline, there's no real way to tell for sure. All the Avengers have agreed to hunker down and figure this out, one way or another (for saying otherwise would surely give them away).

Meanwhile, Thor and Dr. Strange get the weirdest feeling that they a third-party has also infiltrated their ranks. As if they didn't already have the aliens to worry about; something else was amiss. Truly a great challenge for the Avengers; possibly their greatest yet. This is...

Avengers, Disassembled!

So the last Mafia game I ran was about Gotham City and the Joker. I figured, why not do a Marvel theme this time around. In addition, we will be playing a 'Smalltown' variant which should change things up significantly. I'll explain what this is later on. For now, lets revisit the basics for all the potential newbies who might not know it yet.

How do I Win
Welcome back to SP Mafia. After a long hiatus, we will return to the classic formula of 8-10:3:1---that is, the default ratio of a balanced Mafia game consisting of 8-10 Uninformed Majority, 3 Informed Minority, and 1 Wildcard. Let's take an in-depth look at who these factions are and what do they need to win:

a) The Avengers are the heroes of this story. Each member will have their own special powers that they will need to use in order to fight evil. They win once the Skrull have been defeated and Loki is out of the picture either via Nightkills or DayLynches.

b) The Skrull are alien shapeshifters who want to take over the world via assimilation. Disguised as their fellow Avengers, they are actually extra-terrestials capable of mimicking any superpower which best suit their needs. Their goal is to eliminate all the Avengers or equal them in number. If however they tie with Loki, then Loki wins because he's awesome.

c) Loki is the Trickster God, asshole of the universe. Aside from being able to cast illusions, he just couldn't resist fucking with the Avengers one more time and no alien race is going to stand in his way. The Loki player wins if he is simply put, the Last One Standing. Loki might not have any friends in this mad quest for revenge but he wouldn't need to for his abilities are godly in their own right, if not downright unfair.

Before the end of the first Night, you must have already PM'd me ONE of the three possible abilities you would like to have:

1) Divine Barrier - Loki is protected from all Nightkills, forcing the town to only be able to kill him by Lynching in the Day.
2) Illusion - Loki will always appear as an Avenger even at Night. When investigated or when the target of any allegiance-related actions, the result will be false positive.
3) Touch of Death - Loki fires a malicious bolt that can pierce through anything. All his Nightkills are immune to Blocks and Redirects.

Failure to submit a choice before the end of the First Night will default your ability to "Divine Barrier" instead.

You also have the following perks:

Ruination: Each Night, you may choose another player. That player will die. This kill-action may also be done in conjunction with your Role ability (if applicable)

As God Am I: You win if you are the last player standing. Or if you and the Skrull remain and you tie with them.[/spoiler]

How to Play
If this is your first time playing Mafia on this forum or on the Internet or IRL in general, then it's quite easy. The game has two phases:

- In the Day, the entire group must reach a decision to lynch someone (or no one) by voting pubclicly in the thread. They do this by posting #Vote . In order for the town to reach a decision, the number of votes must be at least more than half the town. Once votes have reached that amount, that player is executed and Night follows.

- After the finishing lynch vote is made, I will give an extra 12 hours for anyone else to post. If no one else posts within that time, I will end the Day. If someone does post, the 12-hour clock will reset until the Day deadline is reached.

- At Night, any player with Active Powers can perform a Night Action associated with your Role. The Skrull can also convene together to talk and decide on a Factional Nightkill. Your Night Action will be listed in Role Section below.

- Stark Tower during the Day is open and spacious enough so that everyone may freely PM each other. But at night, unless you're a Skrull, you may not PM people. If someone has broken this rule, report it to me and they will be dealt with (ejected from the game).

Aaaand that's it. The game continues until any one of the 2 or 3 factions' win conditions is achieved (see above). If you need an example of how my Mafia games work, click on the links on top of this post in the spoiler.

Smalltown Variant
Unlike previous Mafia games, the Avengers really do know each other and so hiding their abilities would be pointless and stupid. So in this Smalltown variant, all role assignments will be revealed to each other. The secret phrase is Strawberry Milkshake. That means everyone will know that Nish is the Doctor, for example. Not only that but he may also be a Skrull Doctor. To balance this somewhat, some of the more exceptional role abilities get a nerf. In addition, alot more unconventional roles have been added as well.

In addition, Roles will be voluntarily picked via a drafting mechanic. So Nish can for example, choose to be the Doctor when he signs up, and everyone will know that. I'll explain more on Drafting later on when we get to Sign-Ups.

Because the identity of these roles are now revealed to everyone, there will no longer be any PM's associated with them. Only the allegiance PMs will be given as stated above. Here is the full roster of Avegers and what they do:

- Every night when Bruce did not use his ability the night before, he can transform into the Hulk and (by PM-ing) #RAAAGE at at a target, confusing that guy. Any damage done to you, goes to that target instead.
- This ability does not work for Loki's Touch of Death (attack still goes through) and Scarlet Witch's Chaos Field.
- The Hulk takes at least 1 day to recuperate turning back into Bruce. So he may not use this ability consecutively.

Ability: Drag N' Drop
- Every Night, Falcon can select 2 targets to fly by and switch'em around by PM-ing me #Switch and . Any action affecting one will target the other instead and vice-versa.
- Redirect action will not work if a) Manuever is impossible (Skrull cannot kill another Skrull), b) Loki's Touch of Death Ability, and c) Scarlet Witch's Chaos Field.
- If at least 1 of these targets invalidate the ability, the other will invalidate as well.

- In the event of an Avenger's Demise, Hawkeye can (by PM-ing me #Assume 's identity) pick ONE deceased member that was either killed in the previous Night or Day and cover for them, replacing his own identity (not their allegiance) and gaining their abilities in the process.
- Hawkeye can only do this action at Night and once the deceased is chosen, he can no longer go back. Hawkeye also cannot use his ability on Captain America.

- Every night, Sue can target someone and blanket them with a nigh impenetrable psychic shield by PM-ing me #Protect . Any action that blocks and/or redirects the target's actions will be nullified.
- The target's own actions as well as killing actions made against the target, can still go through.

- Reed Richards starts with 4 Gadgets that he can give away at night by PM-ing me #Gift with . He can only gift once per Night and will only have 1 of each gift available.
- All targets will be aware that they have received a gift. Targets can have more than 1 gift. Mr. Fantastic cannot gift himself.

Gadgets:
1) Adamantium Shield - Passively grants the target protection from one NightDeath. Target will not be informed that the Shield was used.
2) Stasis Pod - Single use item on self only. When used, blocks all the wearer's actions for the whole Night. The next Morning, usage of this Item will be announced in public.
3) Silver Surfer's Board - Single use item on self only. When used, user will fly away and any actions made against it for the Night are blocked.
4) Euthanizer Ray Gun - Only has a single shot. Can during the day or night (by PM-ing me) kill a member that had 3 votes against them but was NOT successfully lynched the day before.
