well sorry! Just trying to have fun, not intended to make you guys laugh really. Sorry if all of you guys know what it means but what does stiff mean in an animation? >.>
(dunno but I don't use bad spellings frequently, I just did that because it seems to fit to a noob guy.)

Stiff means your limbs act like they're a bunch of twigs glued to a body and that whenever you move them, it gives off a "robotic" hard feel. Also known as "stiff".

Animation wise, it's when a body or the limbs are too "hard" that they don't feel human but more mechanic.

1.) Limbs are stiff. It's giving me the impression he's a robot.

2.) Give the legs and arms more time in the air(1 frame is good enough). You will not believe the effect of just adding an additional frame(You need to know what to draw and where/when to put it though)

3.) It feels like he's jogging/semi-running rather than a full on run. The back needs to be animated rather than a clear cut straight line.

Personal Note: It's better than majority of the run tests I've seen in a while so don't get discouraged about my C&C's. Keep it up!

Heey, thanks Zero dudeman! It's such an honor to get CnC from ya. Yeah, I was deleting frames when doing this kind of run instead of adding one, hence the lack of such anticipation. I'm also trying to make my sticks don't look stiff but still haven't figured out how to yet as I'm using line tool.
Also, I already animated the back part by curving it bit but I see it seems hard to be noticed. I'll be sure to keep practicing!

Plus I like your style.

I think what most of you guys are forgetting is the up and down motion of the entire upper body and not just the head, since running is basically a consecutive short jumps. here's mine http://sta.sh/0zghhatoqjr but i think richard williams illustrates this better.

Maroon is it just me or I couldn't see your stick clearly there.. (though the run's pretty good for me. Not sure for the CnC)
But thanks for the pic suggestion. I'd keep it in mind for the next run attempts if possible.

Wonder what kind of challenge would be next. Maybe some effect practices? (Where one of my weakness points really is .u.)

I recommend you just keep adding stuff(It can be anything) and not let others decide for you.

I've seen this happen a lot and that the thread starter begins to just die for some odd reason when people start trying to "take control" of the thread. We can post our suggestions but make sure you're the one who will decide. Honestly, I don't care what I have to animate as long as I can animate since I've been focusing a lot on art study that I've forgotten how fun it was to animate.

Alright added it.
By the way, did you check out the reference pic for run animation in the first page?

I've seen it, this was made before Maroon posted that. See it on page 3.

Well, I second this. Hope you keep hosting this in the mean time, S.A. You can even list your own ideas as to what you plan for the next challenges. Personally have some in mind (e.g. falls, elements), but I'll let you decide overall.
