It's not a glitch, two towers placed diagonally are weak against a few types and must be accounted for.

After studying Poppet's setup, I realized a flaw in mine. I have no idea at all how someone is supposed to actually beat this game though

How about each time you get in the top ten you earn points based on how high your point is. Basically 1st place gets 10, 2nd gets 9 and so on. It'll help motivate people to try harder. The points don't reset after a game is done, so people compete on who has the most points as the games go on. Just a suggestion...

Problem with that is it discourages anyone new from joining as it's impossible for them to catch up. That system works better for tournaments with an actual ending.
